Free from the Puppet String Trophy ( SOLVED )

Hi, I'm in NG+. I did the first run instinctively, without any guides or anything, and the final trophy, Rise of P, came out.

Now I'd like to do what I listed in the thread title, but there are a lot of conflicting opinions about it. I'll update you on my run:

I have a lot of humanity, and I just defeated Laxasia.

Do I have a chance of getting this trophy? Or should I just focus on the other one (giving my heart to G.)

If so, what should I do?

you only need 500 points to unlock the "free from puppet strings" ending (rise of p was 895). there's no indicator for this level, but the next level up will say "you feel warmth", which will definitively tell you that you have enough.

you can basically do whichever one you want, but doing "happily ever after" first will mean you'll have to fight the additional nameless puppet at a higher level on ng+2.

I definitely have maximum humanity... can I not give Sofia peace by letting her live and refuse to give my heart to G.? Would that work for the trophy?

At least in NG++ I save myself the fight against the nameless puppet.

unfortunately, since the only difference in what you do between the two ending is having a different humanity level, it does mean you can't "give her peace" when your humanity is too high. sorry if you already made that choice. it means you were right about having to pursue the "happily ever after" ending first.

edit: don't forget to check out geppetto's room before hitting "new-game" when doing the "happily ever after" ending.
