Chapter 9 DLC
Howdy,

I'm fresh off ch 9 with only two chapters to go in the main game (need to activate the piano secret passage). Would it be suicidal to try the DLC at this stage? I know it will be exponentially harder, but would lacking the few levels from ch10-11 (5? 10 levels?) really make or break how viable tackling the DLC is?

I'm asking because the weapon I elected to build around turned out to be the Monad Rose and you get it at the end of the DLC.... so I'm tempted to go grab it now rather than only try it in NG+ (since if there wouldn't be anything left to do in NG if I end my playthrough with the DLC).

Let me know your thoughts and thanks for taking a bit of your time to answer this!

Cheers!

If you feel confident in your skills, by all means go for it. The DLC is tough, but if you take it slow, learn patterns, and make good use of your tools you should do just fine. The first area was actually the toughest for me by a good margin, but some of the enemies near the start have been nerfed since I last played through the DLC I will admit. Worst case, what? You find the DLC too tough? All that means is that you can head back to the main campaign for a while and come back later.

Ah good to know, I thought I was sort of locked into the DLC upon starting it. I'd say so far my main campaign is going very smoothly. The only roadblock I had was the Walker of Illusions which kicked my ass several times until I "got gud". Is she a good reference of the DLC's difficulty?

Waker of Illusions is mostly so tough because of her weird telegraphing and large health pool. There... isn't really a perfect analogue in the base game to be honest. It's probably easiest if you just experience it for yourself.

And yes, you are not locked in to anything. You can pretty much just teleport from any stargazer to any other you have unlocked, save for that brief section I'm presuming you just got through in front of the Corrupted Parade Master.

Yeah I will do "chapter 12" Markiona and see how hard the DLC becomes. I was indeed under the impression that the Corrupted Parade "no-teleport allowed" could reoccur during the DLC, but I'm glad it doesn't. Wish me luck.

Praise be LuckyCheshire.
