DLC is hard?
Beat this fantastic game on intended difficulty, but DLC is just pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell.

Base game avoided all that FromSoftware ♥♥♥♥ like:

Boss arenas filled with gclutter that only hinders the player (hello, Orphan of Kos);

Small corridors where you can't play with most of the weapon that you need to swing;

Mobs that hit you like a truck and also mixing them in most abnoxious way possible,

And now we have exactly same stuff in this game's DLC lol.

all the major fights are clear of inclement terrain, but there’s definitely plenty in the levels preceding them. Every weapon can run an arm to support it though; helps that both DLC arms are fantastic in those selfsame corridor cases

and yes, the DLC is substantially harder than the base game, both numerically and mechanically
DLC is fine, I just beat the crocodile boss for the first time and so far it has been pretty good. The actual problem with these games (soulslikes) is the lack of training mode and similar options, but every scrub is focusing on "easy mode" instead of the real problem plaguing the genre.

When I played DLC, it seemed like it gets easier and easier. I've beaten last boss in 2nd try, while the 1st one took me about 9 attempts.
It looks like you already described the DLC.

the only discussion point is waiting for people to come and invalidate everyone's feelings wit their "I dunno. i beat X first try. the only problem is always you." pattern.

Sounds like you just dont want the game to include any sort of interesting content. You dont want positioning or weapon choice to be important if you agree with the tight corridors point.

Again, people always focus on the wrong things. Why do boss runbacks exist? Why does it take more than .2 seconds to restart a bossfight? Why is there no training mode? Nobody talks about this, but instead focuses on their own strategic or mechanical failures. If only you tried to improve things you actually have power over and complained about things you don't.
The DLC having very tight corridor zones in selected areas conveys only "you like big sticks and wide swings? No backup weapons? Get ♥♥♥♥♥♥.". it's a deliberate restriction. I would prefer a "hit the wrong target (eg: a special exploding barrel, wall collapses, bridge falls) and you die" over that ♥♥♥♥.

Cluttered boss arenas + giant monsters designed to obstruct your view and prevent you from seeing (bad camera) or move aren't fair; i'm trying to fight the area boss, not fight the game.
I prefer "lose to bad timings, bad mechanical execution" rather than "lose because i can't see what's going on" or "i got parry-locked in a corner and can't move".

Luckily only the giant croc has those issues. Is it intelligent design? no, it's a deliberate "you parry => you get knocked back until i have you cornered => you lose." This is why i realized the giant croc is a "dodge boss" rather than a "parry boss"

I'm using a very large weapon and have no issues using it's entire moveset even in the tightest of corridors. If one attack doesn't work, another will. It's coil mjolnir handle + greatsword of fate blade. It's all positioning and therefore your fault.

I'm yet to see a boss that has a cluttered arena and bad camera. So far, I've only fought the crocodile boss and the puppet woman. Do let me know if this changes and I'll check it out.

The crocodile boss is literally just about changing your position after you parry a little. It's that simple. Also you have to stay near him so he never tries his instakill grab attack. That's about it. It'll take a whole bunch of attacks for you to reach the corner if you just position yourself diagonally between the corners of the arena. Yes, it's deliberately designed to test your positioning.

That's what i'm talking about. Except its arena is cluttered with (some) obstacles you can't break, and they will get in your way during the fight at the worst moment.

Bad camera = the crocodile is often so close i can't even tell what's going on, and i often can't reposition without eating damage (it's a vicious circle). Let alone when i have just parried everything, there's no stamina left and the boss goes "no stamina to even run? parry these".

anyway i got the antiphony of your writing; it's always the same old pattern: "i was successful, i see no problems". It must feel real damn good to land successful deeds one after the another.

The boss presented a challenge, I overcame it. I never claimed to be the god of the new world or something. I died quite a bit, solely focusing on figuring out the correct strategy and it worked out eventually.

First I established that the grab attack he does is very hard to dodge and instakills. With that in mind, I tried to see the condition in which he uses it, which seems to be when you've put some distance between him.

Then I focused on figuring out his patterns, of which there aren't many. His attacks deal a lot of damage and simply guarding isn't the best strategy. I tried Guard Parry (Quadruple S tier Fable Art), but he has anti-Guard Parry. He'll retaliate after the stun state. He doesn't have anti-anti-Guard Parry, but by that point I'm wasting 2 fable on minimal returns with a double skill check to boot. I decided to use Absolute Defense instead to deal with some of his attacks, such as the fast bites he sometimes does.

The next problem is being cornered. Sure, I can deal with his attacks, but what if I can't even see them? He doesn't have corner to corner carry, but it's still a lot so as I said above I tried to position myself on the diagonals to maximize distance so I can move less.

He's clearly a carcass monster so Fire works and I applied it to my weapon. I don't use the fire arm ofcourse, because it sucks.

All I had to do was probe for solutions and iterate. And the most annoying part of the boss? The runback. It makes no sense to not have another stargazer right next to the arena, but I guess they're banking on people being in awe of the area connecting to itself or something.

Point is, the game presents questions and you need to come up with the right answers so to speak. Instead, you decide to rage and complain.
