He cant get the disease because well.. he's a puppet not a person.

well, at chapter 9, we see puppets that have gotten the disease

Well, the puppets that "get" the disease are more or less being controlled by sentient ergo (at least from what I understand, given it's VERY similar to the swamp boss in terms of the green tentacles). They're also counted as carcasses despite originally being puppets, so my guess is that the influx of ergo in krat (in chapter 9) re-animated the puppets. Since P is forcefully awoken and protected by Sophia (she rewinds time to respawn P whenever he dies) I doubt he could get infected by the petrification disease at all.

Some of the carcasses are also just people who had died due to the "vaccine" given by the alchemists (theoretically to cure the disease. but in reality, it was part of their evil plan all along). because they wanted massive amounts of ergo to awaken the arm of God.

What turned people into carcasses is not the disease, but the cure. Disease literally turns people into stone - that's all.

I guess we wouldn't have a game...
