is it +1 or +2 heat?
As +1 is enoguh for outer areas, but to be in upper areas you need +2 iirc.

What kind of heat resistant armor specifically, and what is your displayed tolerance threshold in the lower left of your screen?
Not all heat resistant armor protects you up to the maximum, in which case you do start to die of heat when you go to the volcano where it's as hot as it can get.

Theres different levels of cold/heat protection and also what pals you have out can add to it.

I would recommend getting the shirt with the new dog coins. It completely negates any temp. I was flying around on my Ragnahawk all over Mt. Obsidian, no issue. Ran around the snow\ cold areas in my heat gear, no problem.
