Pros:

Faithful remake of the 90s classic — same addictive mix of spellcasting, empire-building, and tactical battles

Tons of spells, units, races, and wizard customization — replay value is high especially if you get the addons.

Dual-realm gameplay (Arcanus & Myrror) still feels unique and fun

Art style is charming and easy to read

Cons:

BUGS. So many bugs.

Poor AI — enemy wizards are either brain-dead or randomly aggressive without logic

Missing autoexplore.

Interface and quality-of-life tools are barebones (feels more like a modded fan project than a modern release)

Combat can get repetitive; auto-resolve is unreliable or brainless and also no option to replay the lost battle

Balance is all over the place — some races/spells dominate, others feel half-baked

📝 Final Thoughts:
This remake has heart, but it feels like it left beta too early. There's magic here (pun intended), but it's buried under bugs and old-school jank. If you're a die-hard fan of the original like me, you'll probably still enjoy it despite the flaws. If you're new to the series or looking for a modern 4X, you might want to wait for more patches… or check out Age of Wonders instead.
