I loved it for the story and the sci-fi alien part that intrigued me. To see if he'd make it off the rig or not. But yeah I kind of agree fr though UE5 is kinda of holding this game back, but in a way it's only because of how badly optimized UE5 is. I don't blame it on the game I think they did the best they could with UE5... I am still salty Stalker 2 is UE5 but yeah I guess we knew that for awhile not sure why I thought it would run any better. 🤣🤣

I thought it was pretty good myself.

UE5 was such a poor choice of engine for this game. It's a major factor holding SWtD back.

thats why i can "play" it in 30min on youtube

You wouldn't last long if you just held down W in this game, but I think the worst thing most people do with horror games or 'experiences' of this kind, linear or not, is to watch them first on youtube. It's easy to spot which 'first time playing' reactors are not truly seeing it for the first time

I went through it on GamePass. It really is about as engaging as Machine for Pigs. Actually less I think.

I love Lovecraft, love the 70s, love Scottish humor , love stories in unusual settings - like oil rigs, love short immersive stories with nice direction. In the end its just a game which is more story orientated and it feels authentic to what it tries to bring to the table. It doesn't promises things which it does not deliver. When it makes promises, it delivers them to a very high potential. To be honest I've been waiting for this game for months, if you just picked it randomly on game pass as something to fill your time with its normal not to like it, because it serves a specific purpose for a specific audience.

Hm it's ok. For a supposed story game the story was a bit lacking. Mouthwashing, another "walking sim," is miles ahead in that regard imo.

I actually also hated Mouthwashing for the same reasons as this.

Why do you keep playing games in a genre you don't even like then lol

Ive not finished it yet but I think you just have bad taste. And like the other guy says. Why would you say you hate cake and then eat another cake. Have you tried a different type?

This is like me complaining that a golf game has no guns. This isn't call of duty, it's a slow walking sim where the main goal is to showcase a story. If you don't enjoy good writing then i recommend top seller dragonage veilguard.

I've always found it odd when people complain about the genre they dislike being uninteresting for them.
