Closed Beta testing has wrapped up, and we want to give a massive thank you to all the testers who helped bring these new systems to life! Your feedback, bug reports, and deckbuilding experiments were invaluable and helped shape the changes you’re about to see.

We're excited to announce that these features (plus a few tester-driven tweaks!) are now live for everyone in the Tusk Tales Open Beta.

Changes

New Battle Reward System: Card Buckets

Battle rewards in Tusk Tales now offer themed card buckets!
After each battle, you’ll choose one bucket and receive 1 to 3 cards from it.

Buckets are strategically named to help you identify synergies and archetypes at a glance.
You can remove cards from the bucket you choose, but you can’t pick from multiple ones.
The goal: more synergy, fewer “junk picks,” and a much smoother deckbuilding experience.

Worthy Deadly Battles & Mid-Bosses

These tougher fights will also reward buckets, BUT, with a twist: some cards will come with attached Trinkets, making them significantly stronger and more tempting to add to your deck.
Routing through danger now comes with real upside and more interesting decision-making.

Skippable Taverns

You asked, we delivered: Taverns can now be skipped entirely!
To balance this out and encourage more focused builds:

If you're traveling with a sub-mercenary, you’ll earn bonus Gold and Husks (on victory).
We want to encourage archetype-based builds without locking out mix-and-match options.
Let us know how this feels and if single-archetype runs feel more viable and rewarding!

Shop Overhaul & Treasure Cards

Shops now offer more than card removal!
When you visit them, you may discover powerful new Treasure Cards which include:

Mismancer Jinn: Flying Your Battlecry & Deathrattle effects trigger twice.
Frigidara: Frost, Draconic & Pyro Damage +2.
Retch: Battlecry: Redeem a minion from your deck. It gains a random Trinket for the rest of the run.

Rerolls

After clearing Ruinous Reef, you'll unlock Rerolls!

You’ll start each run with 3 rerolls
Use them at Battle Rewards, Taverns, or Shops when something doesn’t quite fit
Great for chasing synergy or dodging duds

Seal System

Tired of seeing certain relics or trinkets in every run? After you’ve unlocked a certain number of relics and/or trinkets, you’ll be able to use the new Seal System in the Compendium to block specific items from showing up again.

Perfect for tailoring your runs!
Ideal for removing items that don’t support your strategy (looking at you, Death Dice)

Alternate Blitz Bursts

Alongside this huge update we've also included 6 new alternate Blitz Bursts!

Braig: Blood Crusade: Your minions take 10 Damage on your turns. Reward: Revive a Pirate Cannon Dragon Golem & Sprout Elf. Give them Hothead.
Lustra: Stage Dive: Summon 10 Groupies. Reward: Fill your entire board with Crowd Surfers.
Wick: Brigade Bros: Play 10 cards from other Factions. Reward: Summon Quill and every unique Brigade Thief.
Gearhart: Fowl Tricks: Your opponent triggered 4 Traps. Reward: Transform enemy minions into Cluckies, then merge Tinker Bombs into them.
Piper: Flash Freeze: Freeze 8 minions. Reward: Destroy all Frozen minions. Deal 1 Frost damage to the enemy hero, repeat for each destroyed.
Willy: Shrub Stampede: Summon 4 Shrubasaur that cost 5 or more. Reward: Summon a Shrubasaur from your deck to an enemy occupied column, and force it to attack. If it dies, repeat this.

Hey there, great game. I had published a feedback post some time ago about IA issues on the Discord, but I didn't see any improvement since them. I'd like to reiterate a bit as well as complain about one particular fight. - Lustra fight (Seto's story): waaaaay too hard compared to the rest of the campaign. I have even beaten the mighty iron drake in one turn, but this one is very op. Basically, Moshpit makes her engine (dancing dragons scaling) goes to the moon. There's even one attempt when she used it ...

Fixed - The Minion Mauled Mask is available and playable in Tusk Tales: The Hollows as intended.

Here's a hotfix for the new Mercenaires update that includes the following bug fixes:

Bug Fixes:

Scorch card removed from being shown by Cauldron.
Fixed a bug that caused Juniper to have Rush.
Fixed a softlock when playing a Trap.
Fixed a bug that caused Armada Bolster to work properly.

Tusk Tales infinite loading screen

Since the previous update (the minor one), whenever i try to get into Tusk Tales, i get stuck with infinite black loading screen. I thought that this new major update would fix it, but it didn't and i felt that i had to report this issue, since i'm eager to try the new heroes. Please, what can i do to solve this? I don't really play Tusk Tales but I see that to unlock some card sleeves you need to buy them in the Bazaar. What is the exact requirement to unlock it?

Tusk Tales crashing a lot (almost every time I play)

Game version V.0.14.23 I have incredibly frequent crashes with this game, which is a shame because I absolutely adore it. I will describe two separate types of crashes that I get and when they seem to occur, please advise. Hard Crash (My laptop completely freezes and I have to hold the power button to turn it off) This usually occurs in the battle section of Tusk Tales, most often I believe during the Daily and Weekly challenges. This occurs probably around 70% of my run attempt on daily/weekly challenge...

Incredibly fun deck builder. There's a story mode, that has you collecting cards and relics to be able to flexibily build a deck depending on whatever enemies you'll be facing. Different main characters with their own faction-focused, as well different stories for each.

Then there's the roguelike mode, which is pretty fun. Tons of different characters you can start with, which determine your starting deck, and some options in events. Pretty fun out the gate, and can unlock new units and artifacts through the progression.

Main critiques are that I wish the shops and events better previewed what they offered ahead of time, so you could more better plan out what path you'll take to focus on a certain build. But even besides that the game has quite a bit of flexibility with being able to remove cards, modify them, gain artifacts, and other ways to improve yourself and your deck.

It may not be for everyone, especially with how fixated some people have become on how deckbuilders are 'supposed' to be. This isn't a hardcore game that'll smash your face in (although I haven't gotten into any late game), and there are ways to make real powerful busted combos, but that's part of the fun of it. But it is still a very fun deckbuilder with a lot of content with varied mechanics.
