I'll be upfront here: this game is just okay. I don't think that's a bad thing at all though. This is a very simple pick up and play game with a decently satisfying loop. I had fun playing this despite some issues. It was worth the $1 or so that I paid for it.

It's presented as a rogue-lite but instead of a fairly lengthy set of levels you complete back to back, you enter one level that is one of four templates and then complete it in 2-4 minutes. The enemies aren't difficult and the level design is fairly simple but the problem is that the game will put enemies into ridiculous locations that can make progression difficult. Or in the case of the train level, you can whiff a jump entirely and it never quite feels like the player's fault.

The enemies, again, aren't challenging. It's usually their placement that makes them annoying. Most of the time, enemies are just static groups that you spray down. The ones that do move will come out of nowhere and hit you during a jump.

You get money regardless of if you beat a level or not. Obviously if you are successful you will get obscene amounts of cash pretty quickly. In 4 hours of gameplay, I was earning $35,000 per run. The upgrades make your sprayer more powerful and efficient, give you more time in each level, earn you more money per level, and other smaller bonuses.

There's a storyline in this game. This is the thing I'm most mixed on. I don't expect games to have amazing stories so I'm not going to say anything about the quality of it, but the presentation and conclusion of the story feel very quick for a rogue-lite styled game. I had gotten the full story in about 2.5 hours of gameplay. That is nice and all but it makes the post game feel pointless. There's not much point grinding hundreds of thousands of dollars in upgrades if you're really just going to make future runs easier. Those runs last only a few minutes and there isn't enough of a level or enemy variety to really keep it interesting enough to warrant that kind of grinding.

I appreciate what this game is and what it sets out to do. Frankly, it's not bad. I enjoyed my entire playtime. I'm just not sure what would make me want to keep coming back in the future. If it wants to be a rogue-lite, it needs to be reworked. If it wants to tell a story and be over when the story is over, it needs to be reworked. I really hope this team makes another game because I think they can refine what's here and make something really great.

I enjoyed the game overall, but it definitely earned its mixed rating. It can be pretty buggy in certain areas, like how my water hose would continue firing even after letting go of the button. And with how levels are randomly generated it can lead to instances where the levels get cute and put some BS in your way. But I found the gameplay loop of earning money, and unlocking new upgrades by saving certain people, and beating levels to be pretty fun. For something I got on sale for one dollar it wasn't too bad. If you're interested I’d say wait for a sale and then give it a shot.

Such a huge potential but way too many flaws.
