Couldn't afford to buy four copies back for CoE4/Dom5, still can't today. It sucks to have to exclude same-household family or play at glacial hotseat speeds. I'm on a small fixed income and asking for $30 USD x4 is too steep an ask for what are essentially four CD-Keys.
I get it for online play, too many would abuse it that way as they do with Steam Family Sharing now. But it sucks locally.
If it’s intended this way, at worst this should be a feature you can turn on or off. I think casually just playing CoE with friend(s) vs each other or ai can quite enjoyable but having to use 3rd party software (discord screen sharing) to view the fights that occur during the match is really not ideal.
Edit: I was unaware this change had already been implemented. Thanks for quick reply :)
There are sure a lot of artifacts and ways of obtaining them. I already have 4 adept scrolls in 1 army which always stick to commanders on unit death.
My soul would be at ease, if I could tirelessly push something to change artifact distribution and then manually edit what is left

I would so appreciate it if you allowed us to save settings for game creation. So you would be able to save these two sets of information: random map settings page (size, society, and advanced options, including map load by default if checked) and setup participants (including every player, class, and color, and the controller and team settings, all in the same order, etc.). This way, you could just press "start new game", "load settings [1, 2, 3 etc if can premake template settings]", and "Ok" to start a new game exactly as you want it.
Best wishes.
This! I had to restart a couple of time due to bad luck, that's not a problem, but it would be nice if the game remembered the previous game setting, so I can just click next so without having to set everything up again.
And personally hoping for a fey Tuatha/Sidhe playable faction in the future
A.) Have them worship a different god or deity than El, given they don't share many mechanics with the Voice of El faction and El freespawn is still hostile to them despite supposedly being coreligionist. Maybe have them worship a 'Lady of the Lake' of sorts that gave the Baron's ancestors his sword?
B.) Have them be able to improve their Blessing like El's priests can. A mod for CoE4 had them able to clear graveyard and battlefield sites in exchange for giving them a random bless bonus, so maybe use that.
C.) Allow their Monasteries to have Levies raised in them. They're human settlements, right? Even if their primary purpose would be to serve as a secluded area for religious worship, they still presumably have enough of a peasant population given the two gold per turn to be able to raise their own garrison, especially with their walls making it a safer place to live..
