It would be one thing to not understand how a boss works... It's another thing when you kit yourself out with multiple summons to try and draw aggro away from you, only to have the summons instantly die and not hold aggro for even half a second. Or kit yourself out with multiple shields, but the damage breaks the shield almost instantly. Or have multiple counter moves, but most of her attacks don't actually trigger the counter while also ignoring the immaterial buff that is *supposed* to make you immune to things for a second. No, I understand her. I do. It's why I made a long, drawn out post, outlining each of her things. I didn't even bring up how the iron maiden she summons to grab you, pull you into the middle, drain you of your blood, etc, doesn't summon a skeleton like literally anything else when hit with the condemn debuff. Even sentry turrets placed by engineers summon skeletons when they die. Hell, I had a CARRIAGE summoned a skeleton when I hit it with my bow that has condemn on the scatter shot weapon skill. Meanwhile the iron maiden has a health bar and can actively attack you with bulls, grabs, and launches, but doesn't summon a minion even when you block the harpoon hook with the green undead shield. Because it ignores the shield =_=
Sounds like maybe you need to change up build a lot to find something that works or be running her around in circles and focus the iron maiden to get her by herself which isn't necessary but helps.
If she turns red that means shes getting ready to kick you into the iron maiden.
I'm going to assume you have your max lvl weapon available and gear lvl 8 armor which is the highest you can get at that point?
This guy has some really good videos too.
As for the build change ups, I tried bursting her down with chaos flames, I tried leeching through the bs, honestly for most of the game I default to the undead summons because I'm flying solo and they grab aggro for at least a second, but Val looks at them and they die so fast that she just continues her combo on me lol. Refer back to me dashing and her hard tracking me through it instead of hitting the shadow clone. Number of times she would kill my skeletons with a sweep, then auto flip on me to hit me and I dash only for her to dash and have hers curve with mine as she knocks me out of immaterial. *It does not make sense*
I will never understand how winning once makes people just forget getting bodied so many times. It took me 3 tries to down brutal Quincy and it felt like I lost my purpose as a human being for the rest of the day.
Also fight her in an area where where there is an indestructible rock
sometimes, the actual hurt circle seems larger than its indicator
even bullet hell games would make the actual hurt circles smaller than the sprites (the indicators) that represent them
i know it's just something you have to get used to, and i won't ask for the AoE nor the hit circles to be smaller, but i hope they do adjust the graphic sometime
Oh thinking about the frost lady.
This lady also has a ton of attacks where she just stands still.
Only thing is kill the coffin to help reduce chance of getting snagged.
This ^ I'm not asking for smaller hit boxes or anything of the sort, I'm asking to know where I'm *safe* lol. When I am standing between 2 circles saying damage will be here, and there's clearly a safe gap, I shouldn't then get double stacked damage because both end up hitting me. As for the person saying it's a ping issue... I'm playing solo on a private game world that I host non dedicated. There shouldn't be "ping" lmao. I am the source of the world. There are some awkward delays to some attacks and spells, but that's not even remotely close to the point of this post. As for anyone still jumping in saying "it's easy, just learn their patterns and change your build" definitely didn't read any of the other responses lol. I've tried changing the builds, I've learned the mechanics the bosses have, and learning that does not in any way change the original meaning of this post in how Val is brutally and unfairly fast with most of her attacks hitting when they fundamentally should not as shown by indicators. As someone who has reach Dracula solo on Brutal, I can safely say I've learned just about every boss to a large extent XD (I will admit I stopped at Drac because he just flat out feels like someone who isn't meant to be solo'd at all. I know people have done it, but I consider it a win already.)
Could also be a solo bug or private server bug, as all the people responding are taken your post into account, I've soloed her plenty of times on brutal and never had any of these issues, I've had issues duo with Domina acting erratic but this was after the AI PATCH but once solo it was perfectly fine.
It's either your world is bugged, you're not fast enough, or frame drops that are affecting your game since its solo/private or just a heavy performance issue.
I've had the issues with telegraphs being slightly off, never had this with Valencia though so I don't know what to say about that.
Some people have harder problems with certain bosses, I've had people have problems with the Winged Horror of all bosses even though it's one of the easiest ones and some people have problems even in ACT III.
I've also never had an issue with Adam and I've never understand the people having problems, even after the nerfs everyone is still upset and complaining with how much easier he is, you literally just walk away from his grab and dodge telegraphs, that boss did have bugged telegraphs and they fixed it, so even easier now on top of all his nerfs.
Anyways, congrats, at least you started having a hard time towards the end and not in the beginning like some people.
