Selaco
Scrolling Issue in Menus
I recently opened Selaco. I am using a keyboard and mouse, with no controller connected.

I am running Arch Linux with KDE Plasma Wayland, using the Native Linux build of the game with the Steam Linux Runtime 1.0. I am not using a Steam Deck.

On the menu asking me to choose the presets, the selection kept scrolling upwards despite me giving no input. I managed to click through it.

On the Main Menu, things are fine, but in the Options Menu, when attempting to scroll it keeps moving back to the top. I have not tried any gameplay yet, as a result of this bug in the Options Menu.

I suspected this could be a result of the game detecting my keyboard as a controller, as a handful of other games have been unplayable as a result of this, but even when turning Controller Support off in the settings this issue persists.

I apologise for how sparse this report is with zero technical information. If there is any other information I can provide, any kind of logs I can submit, I am only too happy to do so!

Thank you :-)

Do you happen to have a Wacom tablet connected? We have recently learned the Wacom drivers make the tablet act as a joystick, which could very likely be causing the issue
Thanks for the reply! I don't have a Wacom tablet connected, or any other peripherals. However along the lines of this, I did learn that it was my keyboard causing the issue. Disconnecting and re-connecting my keyboard each time I open Steam will fix the issue. This workaround suffices for now :-)

I am using a Ducky One 3 RGB keyboard, which is reported in some applications as a controller.

If useful, here is the output from "libinput list":

Sorry for the very late reply. The short term solution would be to turn gamepad support off via XInput support.

Under Options->Gamepad set Enable XInputSupport to NO.

If you can't scroll to that because of the issue, open the console with ~ during a game or at the "Press any key..." screen and enter:
joy_xinput 0

Oh I'm a moron, I forgot this was Linux. Since you can't turn SDL support off entirely, in Linux you can increase the deadzone which should fix the scrolling

In the console:
joy_menu_deadzone 1.0

I'm facing the same issue! I used the deadzone command and it didn't work.

Sorry to hear that.
I am making a change for the next update that should allow you to turn off the gamepad support properly in menus. The scrolling problem is a bit of an oversight as it shouldn't be happening when the gamepad is disabled.

I'll bump this thread again when the update is available.
