New update causing controller drift on Steam Deck
Updated the game today. I use the official controller layout.

Now when playing I’ll lose control, either spin in circles or just have my aim drift down. Walk forward while pressing nothing. It’s like if my Steam deck joysticks had joycon drift. Same thing happening in pause menus with laggy input and the menu selection hopping between others

I have the trackpad + gyro disabled. I tried other games to make sure it isn’t a hardware issue and they’re fine. Tried verifying and reinstalling the game

Game worked and controlled beautifully on the Steam Deck when I last played (March 8th) but today it’s unplayable

The recent update has no changes to the engine or the gamepad code, so I think something else might be going on here.

Spinning around in circles has a tendency to happen when a second input device is detected (prior reports had this issue when using DirectInout on a controller emulator). Are you certain you're not using new software you didn't use before? Something that changes the behavior of your Steam Deck's input?

If you roll back to an older version using Steam Beta, does the problem persist?

Also possible that the deadzone settings have reverted for some reason. If the deadzone is set to zero this could happen easily.

You can check by turning on advanced settings in the Gamepad menu and then checking or fiddling with the Deadzone setting under each axis. Make sure they are not set to zero, that pretty much works for nobody.

Also verify that only one device is shown in the gamepad menu!
