Is the master collection worth getting?
I was planning on getting the collection for the summer sale since I was interested in the games by watching let's plays. I only played the original 3 ninja gaiden games on nes but never the modern ninja gaiden games.

The games in this collection are awesome, especially if you've never played them before. Just be aware these are barebones ports and that these games are considered pretty hard.
It's different from the NES games, like how modern Mario games such as Mario 64 and Mario Odyssey are different from the original 3 Super Mario Bros games on the NES. Even though the style is different, it still retains the difficulty from the NES games, and if you're a fan of that, it's worth it.

Though like Rocket says, these are barebone ports, sadly. Fortunately modders have fixed some of the problems Koei Tecmo refuses to fix, but there's still stuff I noticed like missing audio in the airship level.

Yeah I know for a fact that these are not like the ninja gaiden games I grew up from. Least the difficulty is retain. Thanks for the reply.
Just the styles is different going from 2D to 3D. Still retains a lot of the themes that make it Ninja Gaiden, the difficulty, main character still Ryu Hayabusa and he still uses the Dragon Sword.
1 and 3 yes, 2 no. sigma 2 is a butchered abomination of the original that throws out almost everything that made OG NG2 unique and special. thankfully the NGS2 Black mod exists which not only restores almost everything cut from the OG but adds new stuff, but i still wouldnt at this point recommend it over NG2, at least not yet. it's very quickly becoming definitive though, and he still updates it even as recently as yesterday

There's not been another hack n slash to date that comes remotely close to Ninja Gaiden.

Yes, it's worth it and we have mods that makes the second game come close to the Xbox 360 version and restoring the blood and gore as well.
