Will probably mod sigma 2 if I ever go back and play it.
That is an old version of the mod that relies on Cheat Table to function, there is a new version of the mod out now that works much better.

You either played the original Ninja Gaiden 2 on Xbox 360 or Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 + on PS Vita. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for PS3 was always censored, and sadly what they used for this collection. Luckily Fiend Busa been modding it more like the original Xbox 360 version, the mod posted in the links above. Sadly cutscenes are still censored beyond his modding abilities, but other than that the mod is very close to the Xbox 360 version.
There's 2 theories why they censored the PS3 version, first reason and the official reason is art style, according to the director Hayashi himself. Second theory and more likely the truth is the PS3 couldn't handle so many enemies on screen at the same time and all the blood, corpses and body parts staying after a fight like Xbox 360 could, so they reduced the amount of enemies and made blood and gore disappear as purple blue mist.
Ive read its because the Xbox 360 version runs under another engine that was coded exclusively to work on 360, so a lot of changes were made to port it on PS3. Also, for what i know, the vita version was just the PS3 version of sigma 2 with some of the OG 360 features, it also ran below 30fps most the time.
Xbox 360 version you could kill 30 enemies, back track and all their blood splatter and body bits will still be there. I don't know about coding, but imagine if PS3 was capable of the same thing, they would have re-coded it to work like that, instead of making most of it disappear into blue purple mist and reducing the amount of onscreen enemies at a time. The fact that Fiendbusa could mod Sigma 2 on PC to be like the OG Xbox 360 version, makes me think it's the PS3 that couldn't handle it.
I never had a PS Vita and the chance to play Sigma 2 +, only heard it was just Sigma 2 but 'uncensored' with the blue purlple mist recolored red like blood. I'm not sure how much of the OG 360 features it had.
