This settings worked for me on Windows 10.

Go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oddworld Abes Oddysee

rightclick on AbeWin - Properties - Compatibility

Now click on:
Change high DPI settings

and set:
Override high DPI scaling behaviour.
Scaling performed by:
Application

How does it look then? Higher resolution? I'm playing on Windows 10 and have no issues with standard configuration.

No. That´s just for the issue if you do not see the whole game on your fullscreen.

guys just change your resolution on your monitor. i went from widescreen to 4:3 / AUTO and it makes the game look much better. Or do you guys not like the black sides? idm

es sollte mit der R.E.L.I.V.E. engine funktionieren https://github.com/AliveTeam/alive_reversing/releases/latest . du musst einfach nur RELIVE_Windows_Binaries_Lite_Debug_x64.zip herunterladen und dann in dem spiel ordner entpacken. dann kannst du relive.exe starten und alles sollte funktionieren. wenn du das spiel über steam starten willst musst du einfach nur relive.exe zu AbeWin.exe umbenennen

The start of the game takes a very long time (45sec) and although I start the exe, the game is executed by Windows via Rundll. Originally I wanted to use DXGL for scaling but now I am very happy about the R.E.L.I.V.E. Engine for Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus linked here.

Changing the monitor resolution doesn't make it not freak tf out when it opens or closes or force Steam to be fullscreen on my other monitor. Nah I just don't like black lines clearly.
