New patch hosed game? - SOLVED

Got a 1.3 mb patch and now when game starts it loads with this borg hand. There's no way to move around or do anything. Game is hosed?? I only finished 1 game so far.

Good news, we just put out a patch that should prevent this bug from occurring ever again. We also optimized a few places to improve frame rate as well.

Hello Midnight77,

Q.A. here, there must have been some rare inconsistency in the save state. I'm sorry that happened. If it's any consolation you should be able to get back to that point relatively quickly by pressing space to skip cut-scenes. Note you don't have to beat the games to get the codes, just boot them.

Thanks for letting us know this happened to you. I'll forward this on to the devs. Do you know what location you were in and what you were doing right before this occurred?

I had walked around all the base and done as much you could do before doing any of the games and then I just finished Axis Mundi. I'll restart and get past the bug later today. Thanks!

Hi Midnight,

Launcher dev here. Luckily (or not?) I ran into this same issue while working on updates this morning and was able to zero in on the issue. It has to do with a mismatch between the resolution the game is trying to set and the list of resolutions it has saved previously.

I'll have a fix in place in the next update -- otherwise an immediate workaround would be to clear your PlayerPrefs registry entry for the Launcher, if you're comfortable with RegEdit that is. The launcher registry entry is at Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DreadXP\DXC4Launcher.

Is there gonna be at least some more patches in the future? The framerate feels rather off especially on the exploration aspect, maybe if it's possible, more visual options for the game?

It feels rather bare-bones

There is indeed going to be another patch very soon, as the developer stated (and more after that). We are a small dev team so we appreciate your patience and understanding while we make all the fixes within our means.
