Hi! Does anyone know how to solve the key puzzle where you have to activate skulls under three windows and the one where you are in a dark room with strange sounds in the background? I have no clue for both!

After I defeated the final boss of the "moon" levels, the bullet hell boss that is, I found myself in a red room with two giant skulls and a strange monster feeding another monster. I could do absolutely nothing, I couldn't interact with anything, so I quit to the sanctuary, and when I tried to play the boss battle again, I found the entrance closed (with a new key symbol above it), and a new locked "mouth" door in the middle of the path now disclosed to the right.
