Update: Game works, but no Videos (black screen)

after the start i can see an intro, than black screen. what did you do? i can hear music.

Did you guys try GE proton?.. wondering if its just missing certain proprietary codecs that is why no video.

Game started and I saw the intro video (Using GE-Proton9-2). Main menu was lagging but it somewhat recovered. Maybe it's compiling shaders in the background the first time or somethign else ?

Restarted the game and now the main menu runs a lot smoother.

i tried ge proton 9.2 same result. i see the unreal engine logo and the helm for 3 or 4 seconds. it looks like it fades out. than a black screen. and nothing happens.

The stuttering seems to be shader processing in the backround. Tried it with win10 again and had the same performance problems. Game was recovering after a few seconds.

Was not able to get the videos running (skipped them with ESC), but the game itself works ok.

Update: Installed ProtonGE 9.2 via ProtonUp!. Now it works like a charm.

Ye the devs stated that there are problems with cosmic high end devices :)

Can confirm Proton GE 9-13 works. Black screen at first for a bit, but once it's finished loading it's good. Loading after that is faster than most games, but I do have it on an M.2 with one of those cosmic high end devices. (Threadripper 7960x and a Hellhound 7900xtx)

Does cutscenes work with GE-9.2? Have the same problem with cutscenes and in game turtorial mini-videos.

Ge 9.20 (not 9.2) fixes video.

is the game STEAM DECK COMPATIBILITY? When i was running linux i had alot of success with the steam OS.
