The player switching in this game is abysmal.
Came back to give it another try after a layoff, and I'm sorry but in the year of our lord 2025 it's just not acceptable to switch to every player except the one closest to the puck. Do better.

Go to your options, there is a setting for that.
Also, your right thumb stick picks.

I wish there was option to do left stick + A to switch players to the given direction. This game is so fast paced that I don't think right stick is the best way to control this. Also the game controls don't even say right stick does anything for some reason.

Well the only time that has come up is when I am chasing the puck, so I didn't need buttons at that moment. Usually just smacking the right stick upwards to try and select a defensemen.

Sounds more troublesome that way, id rather not have to use my stick for movement to switch, if you switch to the wrong character then you gonna be skating all around out of position. I dont see how being fast paced changes this either, it not like moving your thumb not even an inch takes long or slows you down.

Having more options is fine though if that your preference.
