I keep playing this game with my friend from steam for couple of years. I used to host the game so he clicks first and he choose orange every time. I am left handed so being blue is easier for me. But after the current patch if you host the game you HAVE TO be orange. So I think to solve "pressing space at the same time" problem, now whoever hosts the game, has to be orange. So I think we should still be able to pick our sides.
