Hey everyone, this update brings a ton of improvements to the Slime Rush mode, alongside some more polish and bug fixes. Please note that updates may start to slow down over the next few weeks. I currently have finals to start studying for so my time will be limited to work on Slimekeep.

• Added 5 new Slime Rush-specific upgrades!
  
• Slimeball drops now scale exponentially by round: 30 × 1.15^(round - 1)
  
• Player now gains 1 special slimeball per round completed in Slime Rush
  
• Removed certain incompatible upgrades from appearing in Slime Rush
  
• Added round number text to the bottom corner of the screen in Slime Rush
  
• Fixed a Slime Rush softlock caused by unkillable enemies
  
• Fixed pit softlocks in Slime Rush
  
• Fixed visual stacking issue with grass in Slime Rush

• Made mech boss minion nuts and bolts more visible with a yellow outline
  
• Reflected projectiles from the Samurai boss now have yellow outlines and move slower (6c31c8e)
  
• Samurai boss slightly nerfed to make the fight less tanky
  
• Chopper boss’s death ring no longer deals damage
  
• Samurai knives stuck to walls no longer deal damage
  
• Digger Slime no longer glows while digging
  
• Added a laser sound effect to the DJ boss fight lasers
  
• Added screenshake to the Chopper boss death animation

• Fixed grass and decorations spawning inside pits/walls in Slime Rush

• Fixed save data incorrectly persisting between the tutorial and main game

• Added a new skin that unlocks when you "uncorrupt Slimetopia for good"
  
• Added a glow effect to the health bar when Super Rush is ready, to make it easier to spot

• Guaranteed a health shop spawn on Day 16 to improve late-game consistency (a796067)
  
• Super Rush meter now passively fills from killing slimes (capturing still fills it faster)
  
• Made the dart minigame slightly harder and removed the tutorial popup after the first time
  
• Prevented the player from immediately falling into a pit again right after respawning

• Fixed a softlock in the dart game after playing more than once in the same run
  
• Fixed a bug where Slime King could trigger two attacks at once
  
• Fixed some library books displaying incorrectly when Rich Text is enabled
  
• Fixed overlapping dialogue text when talking to NPCs in challenge mode
  
• Fixed DJ/Samurai boss chests not dropping health properly
  
• Fixed the pet acting strangely after starting certain secret endings
  
• Corrected one of Tipbert’s incorrect tips

Hey everyone, I've got a smaller patch for you today aimed at tightening up gameplay, squashing bugs, and making your weapons feel as impactful as they should.

• Buffed almost every weapon to make them feel more satisfying, especially during boss fights like the Slime King
  
• Enemies now fall into pits if you fail a capture while one is standing over one
  
• Rush Mode now gives a default 50% damage boost even with no upgrades
  
• Made it possible to unlock the “Undercover Business” achievement if all weapons were unlocked before the last update
  
• Ammo cost in Slimeazon has been slightly reduced
  
• Lowered the shopkeeper pen cost when it includes ammo
  
• Reverted the ammo changes from the previous patch—it was a bit too harsh
  
• Nerfed the Pistol Powder upgrade: now gives +50% damage instead of +100%
  
• Added a lore room spawn to Day 2

• Fixed adventurer NPC spawning inside of walls
  
• Fixed bullet multiplier sometimes not affecting enemies while Super Rush is active
  
• Fixed fog bug when entering buildings on days that use custom tilesets
  
• Fixed invincibility bug with the slime king
  
• Fixed a tile issue on the bottom of chests in minigame rooms
  
• Fixed rocket launchers not tagging enemies for your pet to attack when in manual mode
  
• Fixed a softlock when pausing the game right after being hit with the Stopwatch upgrade
  
• Fixed sea in the boat room blocking bullets
  
• Fixed sleepy slimes being able to shoot while in their death animation
  
• Player can now actually bind the “H” key properly

Thank you all for continuing to play and support Slimekeep! This patch includes a bunch of bug fixes, polish, quality-of-life improvements, and a few balance tweaks based on your feedback.

Here are the changes I have made over the past few days:

• Double Trouble pet upgrade now has a 50% chance to capture an extra slime (was 100%)
  
• Reward chests are now less likely to drop weapons, and it's rarer for them to drop 2 items at once
  
• Reduced all weapon ammos by 25-50%, most of them just had too much imo, making ammo drops feel unnecessary
  
• Removed one chest room from Day 2 to slightly delay the early powerspike
  
• Slightly nerfed the Slime King crown attack, it was a bit too tricky to dodge
  
• Boss chests now drop health and either a weapon OR an upgrade, not both

• Added a check to hopefully fix pet slime spawning extra projectiles/turrets with teleport upgrade
  
• Casino music no longer plays where it shouldn’t
  
• Fixed a weird bug where time would go slow-mo after killing an enemy in a pit
  
• Fixed a specific pit not working correctly
  
• Fixed a major bug where the pet’s weapon would stop firing randomly
  
• Fixed a softlock with bomb slime
  
• Fixed a softlock with the spiky skin upgrade (doors wouldn’t open)
  
• Fixed a tileset override bug in the T-shaped enemy room
  
• Fixed a few slime king attack hitboxes that were blocking bullets
  
• Fixed a typo in "crosshair size" setting
  
• Fixed a typo in the faster fire Slimeinator upgrade

• Tutorial now includes text clarifying how to unlock Super Rush upgrades
  
• You can no longer get hit by bazooka/scythe challenge modifier during boss intro sequences
  
• You can no longer pick up the battery outside of the shop pen
  
• Pet weapons are now disabled during the memory minigame
  
• Prevented the statue NPC guy from spawning too close to walls
  
• Tileset override days can no longer happen on boss days (they were breaking transitions)
  
• Chest opening animations are now smoother
  
• Fixed some minor tileset issues in boss room entrances
  
• Cutscene view text now fades out when you can't interact anymore
  
• Updated boss intro texts to be higher resolution and easier to read
  
• Removed a duplicate shooting target from the start screen shooting range
  
• Chopper boss now has a proper intro animation instead of popping in suddenly

• 4 new achievements have been added!

Firstly, thank you everyone for a successful release! There didn't seem to be anything too game breaking which was great to see. However, I am still aware of a few issues with the capturing system and some other things that are very difficult to replicate, so if you do ever run into any bugs, video recordings with plenty of context goes a long way in helping me fix these!

In this post I will explain some of new additions, bug fixes, and tweaks I have made to hopefully make the game more balanced and less buggy!

Let's start with game balance. I've received a fair bit of feedback that the game is too easy. This has been a challenge for me in development because I want to make sure the game is accessible to all, but also challenging. Although currently it seems like the current game is a tad too easy in general, which I've been working to fix. It felt like too many people were getting overpowered runs early in the game loop or on their first or second attempts, and shredding boss health bars. While I love seeing the chaos of an overpowered build in action, I think the ease of getting powerful items needs to be toned down to emphasize the risk reward nature of the game, as well as making bosses more difficult in general. Here are some of my changes in this regard:

Major
• Increased all bosses health anywhere from 20-50% health to make them more challenging
  
• Increased boss damage caps/meat shields so they take a bit longer to kill with a busted build
  
• Gave the pet's weapon a 50% fire rate decrease by default as his base DPS felt a little too high
  
• Made the health shop pens cost slightly more
  
• Pretty heavily nerfed later stage/later difficulty slimes to drop less slimeballs
  
• Generally increased most upgrade costs to make them more balanced
  
• Decreased super rush buff time from 20 seconds to 12 seconds by default
  
  
  Minor
• Nerfed the better battery pet upgrade
  
• Made the capture loot bars slightly rarer and more difficult to hit
  
• Nerfed the battery add from capture minigame bars to be +100 instead of +250
  
• Nerfed boss slimeball drops from boss chests as they dropped far too many
  
• Slightly tweaked a few weapon prices to be more fair (sorry rocket launcher!)
  
• Increased tier 1 and tier 2 pet upgrade costs by 5 special currency each
  
• Nerfed slimy/slimier surge super rush upgrades to increase buff duration by 5 seconds each instead of 10
  
• Made it rarer for a tier 2 weapon to drop from a reward chest
  
• Greatly decreased the chance for item drops after clearing rooms
  
• Changed slime armor upgrade to give +2 max health instead of +4

Next, here is a general list of bug fixes and new additions I've made over the past two days.

• Randomized the start screen theme at the start of the game
  
• Fixed a bug where the player could not open the pause menu/minimap after playing darts
  
• Fixed a few softlocks and bugs in slime rush mode
  
• Clarified the home/restart/quit confirm text to be more clear on when the game actually saves
  
• Fixed a dialogue bug when purchasing goo in the goo station
  
• Fixed a softlock when playing slroulette/slimejack in the casino
  
• Ensured all projectiles/attacks are now destroyed after killing a boss or clearing a room
  
• Added some clarifying text to the slimeinator panels
  
• Fixed a few of the slime king's attacks having lingering hitboxes
  
• Slightly tweaked slime panicking when being captured to be a bit more engaging
  
• Added more guiding text after clearing the tutorial
  
• TNT craters now don't appear in places they shouldn't be

Hopefully you all understand these changes and please let me know what you think! I am always open to feedback.
