Maybe they should try a GTA remaster or GTA2, although I believe R* has forgotten what brought them to the show in the first place. :p
Main problem is they didn't care at all, not even comparing to original developers didn't care in general.
They are fixed now, but most people won't bother going back to write positive reviews about it.
Just look at the Diablo 2 and TR remasters.
Having just bought the trilogy today (coming into it from the perspective of someone who played & loved the originals back in the day... Well Vice and III anyway (San Andreas I completed the story so quickly and dropped it, even one shot that train mission everyone ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about somehow) I'm downloading and looking forward to it. Obviously it wont be the same as back in the day (nothing ever is) but given playing the old games now is quite the poor experience (we've all moved on) and with their own foibles (controller support needing modding for instance), we make do as best we can.
Cannot wait to come back here in a few hours and start ranting about what they did, and wheres my favourite song (one of the more forgivable missing aspects frankly, music copyright being a minefield at the best of times) etc etc etc lol.
Edit - I missed my point though with my rambling! Waiting often helps with these things. Trilogy has been out for a good while now and I'm hopefully picking it up in a much better state & on sale too!
Edit 2 - I mean the textures could look ugly but they look a lot better than the original. I don't have to play through tinted goggles, as I own the originals still and as I said earlier in my post... We've moved on!
Soundtrack missing is a non issue. Pretty easy to bring it back with a mod. Just a file to copy and drop inside a folder in the game.

Michael Jackson is playing again in that first car you get in in Vice City. That song was removed even on later versions of the PS2 game. If you bought VC on original PS2 a year after release, that song was already missing.
I mean I did basically say that in my post anyway!
I'll probably skip the mods, there's enough of the stuff I liked back in the day to keep me happy. I'm not feeling like I'm missing out.
Which is my entire feeling about the games. They're really not bad at all, quite enjoyable with only minor issues. A much better, more modern experience than going back and playing the originals which have aged very badly, sadly.
