Game starts on the wrong monitor?
How can I fix it that the game is starting on my second monitor? The first screen is on my main monitor, but when the intro starts its on my second?

Try setting to Windowed Fullscreen in graphics options then restart the game.

If I had to guess, Definitive Edition trilogy was Rockstar's first experience with Unreal Engine.

Yea I just alt + enter and then I moved the window to my main monitor and press it again and then I just go into graphic settings and set it to fullscreen again. Works. But I have to do it every time I start the game.

Did you make sure the monitor you play on is set as the primary monitor in Windows?

I get the same issue. It would be a decent option to add "the screen choice". Every game does that. It's very disappointing.

Play it on borderless and then press

windows + shift + arrow left or right (depend on your monitor is in left or right)

The above solutions didn't work for me. If you're in the same boat as me try this fix which worked for me:

Find this file
"F:\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA III Definitive Edition\Config\WindowsNoEditor GameUserSettings.ini"
Obviously change your drive letter accordingly.

Find the line that begins with 'Graphics' and change
"OutputMonitor=0"
To "OutputMonitor=1"

I just put the game in windowed mode, moved it to the correct monitor.. set to full screen + closed and reopened.

This is the one you're looking for. Dragging the window over is not a good option if your monitors have different resolutions or refresh rates, because the game won't update accordingly and you'll be stuck on 1080/60 instead of 1440/144 or whatever.
