Who blackmailed me?
Among many dozens of tries, I had one in which I entered my cabin after lunch and found a blackmail note someone left for me. They wanted 10,000 pounds. Later I decided to see if I could push that plot angle further, but couldn't reproduce that situation. Presumably the blackmailer was Lady H, but I don't think the note actually said so. Does anyone know how I got the blackmail note??

I believe you get it if you try knocking on Clarissa's door while there are people who can overhear you arguing.

More specifically: I think the Major has to be in that section when you knock on Clarissa's door

Ah, I tried it and you are right... thank you, that really had me stumped. Now I'm curious about whether there's some way I can take advantage of the note, although I haven't figured out anything so far. I'll post again if I discover anything...

Hmmm... no luck... I think my conclusion here is that the blackmailer is just doing it to find out if I have a guilty concience...

If you go to chapel at the time on note Anders will show up, bring you to restaurant and Major will say that he overheard the conversation between you and Clarissa and put that note there. Whoever goes to chapel on that time is caught.
Another note in another scene is by Lady H exactly.
