Post-Launch Hotfix just landed, addressing the most urgent issues that you reported to us. Here is the full list of changes:

Quality of Life:

• On Steamdeck and pad, hiding the Building Tree button is now interactable,
  
• Building achievements should now be checked at the start of the game, to prevent situations when buildings constructed before the EA launch will not unlock achievements.

Bug:

• Fixed issue of rotating cards by abilities with Stealth effects and “if” conditions (like Sharpen ability),
  
• Fixed issue with Damned info not displayed on the buildings,
  
• Fixed issue of persisting tooltip when hoovering on a Status Effect that disappears,
  
• Fixed rare issue of generating too many tooltips when hovering on the card’s edge,
  
• Fixed Marked Target and Revealing Weakness abilities issue counting Jeanne’s Stigma, instead of enemy’s,
  
• Fixed Guard ability issue of Burn effect not being activated,
  
• Set up fixes for abilities: Mortification, Uprising, Revealing Weakness, Sinful Strike, and Set Target.
  
• Multiple minor typo fixes.

We would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout the development process and Early Access. During the EA we have published 6 big updates, almost doubled the content of the game, reworked many systems and mechanics, and rebalanced most of the abilities and enemies… more than once. With your love and feedback, we were able to make Nadir even better. We can't stress our gratitude enough and we are hoping you will have a good time playing our game.

We have multiple good news for you today. First and foremost, we can proudly announce Nadir will officially leave Early Access on February 7th! Yeah, you saw that right, it’s Tuesday next week!

During the EA we almost doubled the content of the game, reworked many systems and mechanics, and rebalanced most of the abilities and enemies… more than once. Now it’s time to raise the stakes and release the game as a full premiere.

February 7th is also the day the game will be officially released on Nintendo Switch! Exploring Hell will become handier than ever before! You can find the shop page {LINK REMOVED}here.


In the meantime, we’re working relentlessly to polish the game before its full release. EA Update #6 is now available, with a new card content pack for Jeanne, along with many balance fixes.

Here’s a full list of changes:

New content:

• 33 new abilities for Jeanne, including:
  
• 16 abilities available to gain or buy from the start of the game,
  
• 13 advanced abilities, unlocked by building upgrades,
  
• 4 legendary abilities to gain from elite enemies after building upgrades.
  
• New keywords on Joanne cards: conditional “IF” effects, unlocked after meeting a certain condition, i.e. when a character got specified Status Effect or their HP is below a certain level.
  
• Joanne will now get a couple of abilities at the start of the game, that can be used to craft full cards on Deck Change node.

Balance:

• Rebalance of most of existing Jeanne’s abilities,
  
• Rebalance of buildings cost in Nadir,
  
• Rebalance of shop upgrades in Nadir,
  
• Increase of value of HP healed on Rest node.

EA Update #5 is live and we’re almost at the end of the road with the Early Access development. Next week we’ll officially announce the full release date!


Challenge the lord of all Evil on the throne: Lucifer the Lightbringer, ruler of Hell! He commands the demons and monsters to join together under the banner of the Sin of Heresy. Twelve new enemies, two elite enemies: Chernobog and King in Yellow, and Lucifer as the final boss of the game are now available to be slain at your earliest convenience!

New content:

• New building: Hall of Heresy, unlocking access to the Heresy enemies, available after defeating Asmodeus, leader of Lust sin.
  
• Twelve new regular enemies, two elite enemies, one boss enemy
  
• Two new regular low-level Gluttony enemies for the greater variety of the early game

Balance:

• Rebalance of the starting cards for all three characters
  
• Rebalance of the enemy random generator – more enemies of a chosen sin should be picked and less legacy enemies from lower Sin circles
  
• Rebalance of the run map generator – more Damned Reward and Character Development should appear on the map (after they’re unlocked in Nadir)
  
• Rebalance of all Gluttony enemies (including Belzebub) for a smoother onboarding experience

How to access the beta branch:

1. Find Nadir in your Steam Library. Right-click it and choose Properties.
   
2. A new window will pop up. Click on the BETAS tab on left.
   
3. From the dropdown menu choose betatest - Beta test branch.
   
4. The beta version should start updating for you now - the main menu should display version 5736.

As you might know, since the release of Steamdeck last year, Valve is busy reviewing all the submitted games to ensure their compatibility with this amazing handheld.

We're stuck in the queue too, but after completing the implementation of full controller support and extensive internal tests, we're proud to inform you Nadir is fully playable on Steamdeck!

Update #4 is finally live!

We would like to welcome a new member of the hellish family – Hernan Cortés – as 3rd playable character, representing the Sin of Greed!

Who would have thought that killing millions of people and destruction of a whole civilization would not grant you redemption? Definitely not Hernan Cortés! There's no hope for this famous conquistador, and our boy knows it well.

That's why he slowly builds his own army of lost souls under his command, so he doesn’t get his hands dirty. Hernan has access to a completely new mechanic: Wraiths. Wraiths are souls so consumed by cravings and hatred, they lost any memory of their previous earthly selves. Their powers can be bent to the will of the witty and reckless, such as Hernan the Conquistador!

Mechanically speaking, Hernan can use cards to Summon the Wraiths onto the battlefield and then unleash their abilities by Evoke effect. Alternatively, he can Sacrifice them for some very powerful effects.

During a battle, the number of Wraiths summoned at once is limited by Wraith Limit, a new statistic for Hernan. This limit can be further increased through the Sacrifice effect.

The new character content includes:

• 1 new building to unlock Hernan,
  
• 10 building upgrades to unlock new cards,
  
• 4 new card effects: Summon a Wraith, Evoke Wraiths, Sacrifice a Wraith, Slavery,
  
• 8 Wraiths to be summoned,
  
• 10 character upgrades,
  
• 60 new cards.

There is still one more major update ahead: a full new pack of demons and monsters joined together under the banner of the Sin of Heresy. Their leader is the ruler of Hell himself: Lucifer the Lightbringer. He’s also the ultimate big guy the sin champion has to slay, the final boss of the game. Along with it, there will be some bigger and smaller improvements and final polishes.

And then we’re ready for the game premiere!

We can proudly announce: Nadir will leave Early Acess in Q1 of 2023.

Hello Sinners!

We have another huge update for you! Fully overhauled progression, endless mode, gamepad support, and much more await your arrival. Let's get into the details!

After analysing the feedback we've got from our players on our official Discord[discord.gg] we decided to improve the approach to the meta progression of the game. It became clear to us that the following upgrades should come more often to help streamline the experience and give a stronger sense of progression as the player goes through each and every run.

From now, in the city of Nadir, you can find a new construction tree UI with much more building upgrades. They're cheaper than before and each provides a more manageable number of newly available cards and Damned. We're sure this way you'll be able to collect and learn the new content in a more convenient way and feel the progress better.

Because of this change, we strongly recommend the removal of your old saves, as the previous data might not reflect the proper game progression.

During the run, you can now craft your cards after every battle: two Abilities chosen from rewards will now immediately merge into a Double Card to be added to your deck. This means you are not bound by the previous requirement of matching the Ability cost to create a card.


We realized that being able to access the Deck Change node on every circle of the map caused issues with the game balance and flow. By allowing to dismantle all cards and rebuild the whole deck after every fight, it stood opposite to the run-based, Risk versus Reward nature of the game.

We decided to change this by adding a new node type: Camp, represented by a blue gate on the run map. Inside, you can choose one of three options:

• Heal 10% of your HP,
  
• Dismantle one card,
  
• Return to Nadir.

Thanks to this change, there's more variety as the card rewards obtained during the run can't be dismantled and reforged so easily. It also gives a better sense of reward after taking the risk to continue the expedition to lower circles and puts emphasis on the player's choices. We hope you'll love this new approach!


The new approach required several smaller changes to be done as well:

• To return to Nadir with all rewards in your pocket, you now have to reach the Camp node. This change enhances the strategic aspect of the game - planning the run and calculating Risk vs Rewards.
  
• Deck change node now occurs less often and does not allow to Dismantle a card. You can only use it to create a new card or edit an existing one.
  
• But there’s more! We have also added Endless mode: now, once you beat the boss, you can immediately start the new run with your current deck and character progress, but at a higher difficulty level.

And that is still not all of the major changes:

• Building preview show cards and Damneds preview.
  
• The building tree can now be hidden and expanded via the button.
  
• Shop node can now be upgraded to provide more stock.
  
• During a battle, the targeting arrow changes color depending on the chosen enemy card to better indicate which of your Ability will trigger.
  
• Fixed Armor bar refreshment after the finished battle on the map screen.
  
• Fixed Usurer could sometimes spawn as an Elite enemy, instead of as a regular mob.
  
• Multiple translation fixes.
