Problems with the game

I got the game recently, but have been having problems using it. If I load it in windowed, it cuts off some buttons and stuff, but if I load it in fullscreen, I can't use alt+tab, any other keyboard shortcuts, switch desktops, etc. I have had similar problems in other games (mainly Uplink) but never the keyboard shortcuts being nonfunctional. If there is not a fix for this, I can just figure it out, but I figured I would ask just in case anyone had a solution. (If this matters, I am running Linux Mint at the moment, but it also doesn't work on Windows 11)

The game is 19 or so years old, I doubt they'll ever update it lol

Switch to a lower resolution like 1600x1200 on fullscreen mode

I tried every resolution in fullscreen mode and none of them worked, when I switched to windowed mode it cut off the bottom instead of the top I again tried every resolution in windowed mode and it just made the screen smaller without uncropping it so I still could not use the buttons.

same thing that happens to me, either I can't use buttons or I can't see parts of the game :/

I solved the same problem by going to the Defcon install folder and editing the Prefrences.txt file Like this:

ScreenWidth = 1280
ScreenHeight = 768
ScreenWindowed = 1
ScreenColourDepth = 16
ScreenRefresh = 60
ScreenZDepth = 24

and it starts in a window, haven't managed to get it working fullscreen yet tho.

this does work for a window, which is better than nothing :) although I'll keep trying to find a way to get it to work for fullscreen too. Thanks!
