Intro movie is black
Not a big deal, really. The game works fine, except that I can't see the intro movie. The sound plays but it's black. If I hit Esc it sends me to menu and that works fine (as well as the game itself). I wonder if anybody knows about this, it would be nice to see the movie just to get immersed in the game.
Win 7, 64 bit, nvidia 7800 gt.

Mine does the same thing. For some reason, if you let the menu sit for a while the intro will automatically play again, and this time it works. At least on mine anyway, so give it a try.

I think I remember seeing a thread about this ages ago that may have had a fix, but I have no idea what it was anymore :(

I found that creating a shortcut to the DX9 exe and using it instead of the steam launcher lets you see the intro movie, and hopefully also makes the game more stable (I was having crashes).

Same here and I fix it just like Charlemagne said also creating the DX10 shortcut works fine too.

Old ass thread I know. But as someone encountering this issue currently, I just wanted to share my solution.

Disable steam overlay

The intro movie was black for me tonight, but has worked almost every other time I launched the game. There's probably a fix in the Guides section.

Windows 11, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX
