I have a turtle beach xbox controller. It works fine in other Steam games, including Assassins' Creed: origins. AC1 refuses to ackowledge it at all. It's not that the button "mappings" are wrong - no buttons do anything at all, even at the "Press any key to continue" stuff in the intro.
