You realize the dlc does not have any extra gameplay right? Its some high quality images, character overviews, and dev commentary. The game is still exactly the same and still free. Nothing wrong with charging a tiny amount for extra stuff, especially since its not required and does not impact the game at all.

bought the dlc because after playing the game i wished i could support the devs

Thank you for the meaningful game that both me and my husband(who's new to keyboard and mouse games) enjoyed! Really love the story.
