cocoon has somewhat of an interesting story and is overall an easy game to 100%! the atmosphere of the game is super captivating and makes you want to play the game for hours- i love the little worlds you enter, how puzzling the game can be at times, and the art style of this game is absolutely incredible!

i actually already own cocoon on the nintendo switch as well, so basically i liked this game so much that i bought it twice :P

Objective interpretation, hardware report, and total game progress

COCOON is a linear isometric puzzle game. The game was played on an Intel 13900k CPU and a 4090 NVIDA GPU. No crashes to desktop occurred and zero systems crashes noted. Resolution was set at 4k resolution and steam achievement perfection was attained.


Subjective interpretation

• Introduction
  
  COCOON was an odd experience for me as the graphical style was very simplistic and the puzzles were rudimentary, but I concluded that this was intentional, as the intended audience for this game is children. Of course, adults can play children games, but the bias that adulthood creates needs to be considered and one should analyze this title with a child's perspective in mind.

  The game ran perfectly. No issues noted in regards to Software Stability.
  
  
• Graphics
  
  The art style of this game was simple. This is intentional as children's visual processing capability are not as developed as adults, thus making something visually stimulating can cause discomfort and fatigue. I would describe the game as very polygonal, and the color scheme for the textures is monochromatic with lack of detail being intentional. These graphical quality should provide a stimulating experience for a child's mind without the risk of sensory overload. I am able to perceive the arthropodal aspect of this world being projected, and a child should be able to conclude that what they are seeing is some sort of bug world.

  There is no dialogue, vocalized speech, or written language with this game. Environmental sounds and arthropod screeches are the only thing that I heard from the world. The music is very calm and has no intensity. The sound track is conducive to to successful problem solving, which is good as this is a puzzle game. The music is very ambient and atmospheric. This was a good implementation of music as it is not imposing
  
  
• Gameplay
  
  COCOON plays from an isometric perspective, and you explore the overarching world by delving into sub worlds contained within spheres. These sub-worlds have different mechanics and the spheres themselves can be used to solve puzzles. I found all these mechanics interesting, but easy, ergo perplexion never hindered my progression through this game. Although, I do believe this game would be far more challenging for a child. The innate controls on PC for this game are also the arrow keys, which furthermore supports my inclination that this is a children's game, as wasd is not a intuitive control layout for a child with no gaming experience.

  This story is entirely visually interpreted with no depth to it at all. This is very bland story telling, but certainly works to spur a developing imagination. Something more complex would be lost upon the typical child's mind.

Initially started playing on PC Game Pass and enjoyed it so much I bought it on Steam and transferred my save. It's an amazing puzzle game with a great atmosphere, visuals, and music. Highly recommend.
