I have gotten 7 out of 15 endings has anyone done better?

I tried installing the game last night and even verified the local game files but when I played it, what I saw was SMPTE color bars in place of the background and the videos. The guides I've found for Deal or No Deal and No one is Safe says that you need to read all 3 articles. I can't read more than 2 before the scene changes. Am I doing something wrong?
