most people in end game don't idle
also, try leveling up mining, i came back for a daily login and didn't even get 2 levels, and i need a few more levels for the next zone.
I've found you want to stay on top of unlocking your carry capacity bags (task unlocks) because if you go idle for a week and come back you spend a long time scooping up stuff on the floor and throwing it into remote storage, I feel like I spent 20mins just scooping up fish once because my fish carry capacity was very low and if my carry capacity was higher it wouldn't have been so boring or taken so long (if you leave the map with stuff on the ground it's gone forever.) So if you do want to idle a lot make sure your carry capacity is as high as you can craft it.
Open your codex book > go to quick ref (lots of important things go here are you progress) > Storage
I forget if you get this straight away, I'm on my 8th char now so I've had it for a bit now but that's where it is.
There is also a talent which can be used to deposit your inventory into storage but it destroys everything on the ground so pretty useless in this case.
You can set the game to run in the background to grind "active" but its still afk active.
The game has a LOT of idle functionality but is not an idle game in the stricter sense. It's basically the ultimate troll, release an idle game that isn't an idle game.
