I want to pass the ball faster but it seems sluggish , is there an option?

I'm new to the game and im struggling to break the through the defense. I pass the ball and immediately get hit with a tackle and it feels like the sidestep doesnt really help and pass it to the wings doesn't seem to do much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Anyone here having owned or played this and others? I don't have any Rugby game at the moment so want to see which one comes recommended,
