Ghostwire: Tokyo
No longer playable on Steam Deck?
Howdy all, I figured I'd get back into this game since it's been ages, and I came to find out that there's nothing I can seem to do on my end to get it running any more. I tried GE-Proton, Proton Hotfix, Proton Experimental, and obviously default settings, and I get this error every time:

lowlevelfatalerror

or

"Sorry, something went wrong. For solutions please visit :
https://support.codefusion.technology/anti-tamper/?e=88500006&|=english"

Which brings me to a webpage that just says

"You can no longer authenticate on new devices

Currently your game purchase cannot be re-validated successfully, please wait 24 hours and try again."

What is going on here?

if you are playing on another device or have played on another device in the past, you need to go back to that device, load your save, and then disable ray tracing if you had it enabled. while you're at it, disable any demanding graphics settings and set qualities to low. start the game and save, then quit, so your save syncs with the cloud.

same goes if you've never played the game before, and are only just starting it on the deck. start the game on another device, change settings, save. go back to Deck, allow the save to sync from cloud.

graphics settings are part of the save file, and deck can't handle the more demanding settings. it's a bad save file design.

same for me on OLED deck. Launch always crashes before main menu.
It's so weird too, on the OG SD, I used to actually prefer playing it on the go, but I guess something screwed up along the way...
I bought the game four days ago and had the same problem. I don't know about OLED deck, but on my computer, I found a way to fix it, by changing the DirectX version inside Steam's game's home page. My computer runs with DirectX12 but launching the game with 11 is perfect.
Hi,
did anybody found a way to fix this?

I'm also getting the following message when trying to launch the game:

"Sorry, something went wrong. For solutions please visit :
https://support.codefusion.technology/anti-tamper/?e=88500006&|=italian"

Which brings me to a webpage that just says

I'm on a Deck Oled and I was able to launch the game at first, but after enabling RT (really surprised to see the option! ) the game got constantly stuck on one of the first splash screen and evenctually it stopped launching altogether only showing this error message.
I've hit the wall and gave up, thinking about changing my review to negative, but who knows if this sudden random lack of compatibility is something they did, or something Steam did.

As far as the Deck goes, I think we're just SOL unfortunately.

Ooh, let's give that a shot. I loaded it up on my main rig... set everything to potato... loaded it up on my Deck.... and... IT WORKED!

Thanks, Capi502! This is the solution.
OMG, thank you very much @capi502
lol, I was having the same issue. I figured the game would automatically configure the settings like most. Guess this one just keeps the same settings from the desktop. Good to know
Try going to the gear or right click then under launch options type

-dx11

Then launch the game. This worked for me.
It's working absolutely fine for me.
u gotta be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me what a ghetto solution abeit highly annoying
What do you do if you don't have access to whatever other device that you've played on?

You should be able to edit or delete the config file yourself. The default config should be working fine now on Steam Deck, so deleting it may fix it. If not you should be able to edit the config to disable the ray tracing/demanding settings.

The config file should be located at
<SteamLibrary-folder>/steamapps/compatdata/1475810/pfx/Users/deckuser/Saved Games/TangoGameworks/GhostWire Tokyo (STEAM)/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/
