Spoiler - End Game
So I have missed out on getting to Vladivostok by 14 seconds and a few kms. Must I now restart froma previous save and do this all over again? I have to say this has really spoiled my interest in the game and pretty much ruined it for me.
When you reach a station the slowing down and starting again uses up seconds. I have 5 blockades along the route and my train keep breaking down.

A very frustrating end to what was up to now an enjoyable game for me. I have no idea why an dev would have a end state like this. Similiar to Aliens dark descent. At some point in the previously played time I was no longer able to make the deadline. But I don't know this until I've played through it.

I managed to get to Vladivostock in under 20 days, using normal speed (for another achievement) and taking the longer route (the north one), it is possible if you skip most avoidable mission and locations of the last chapter.
If you reload you latest save and use the faster speed, can't you make it ?

Put level 5 engineers in the locomotive for extra speed, repair the locomotive, ram the blockades and choose the higher speed mode. The amount of time was very doable for me personally.

Don't even need to ram anything (can be dangerous if there are explosives)
Also, time precisely the repairs/upgrades while waiting squads go to locations for ressources.

I have reloaded the last section about 10 times now and I have 14 minutes. But I am just unable to make it now. The train breaks down too much and unfortunately I am unable to make it so I may need to go back and load a save from the second last chapter so will need to replay missions.
I am not sure I am able to stomach that

I arrive with 34 minutes to spare but after taking the fort and fighting off 3 waves of counterattacks - it says I have missed the ship and lost?

I can barely believe you made this far, if you cannot stand reloading a bit far back....

this game isn't that easy, but it shouldn't be that painful to play along. if it is, how did you get this far?

Does the train breaks because you ram blockages stuffed with explosives and you ahve to stop to repair ?
Because if don't ram them you have both time to repair and no damage to the train.
