Hard Mode games has different lobbies.
Normal and New Game+ has common lobby.
In general online coop has troubles with some connection issues. My guess we have more strict rules for finding nearby games now.

It's not dead. There are people looking for help all day in discord. I get one game after another. Yesterday there was 37 people online at the same time in voice chat.

Don't use matchmaking, get to discord.

I haven't tried again but a month ago we couldn't play more than 2 in the CO-OP, otherwise, when the 3rd player joined, it was kicking the 2nd player.

it works better if people have good internet and same region it seems, once you had a big latency difference or bad computers it starts kicking people when new people join
