I think the game is really underrated, it has a lot of different endings and a fun story telling. And that's not appreciated enough. The only thing missing is the gameplay. Anything hard not mind blowing its just average. The writing is where this game really shines. Every part of it is brilliant. The music composed to promote the game (Internet overdose and Internet yamero) is a great addition. If I were to compare it to other games, I would compare it to Doki Doki Literary Club, the difference is that in Needy Streamer Overload you actually play the game instead of just watching the story play out. The art is really cool. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and different to play. It was fun 100% the game and see all the different endings. All in all, a great game if you don't mind reading.

I wish I could give a neutral review for this game rather than a negative one, because it's clear that this game has found its audience and I can definitely see how someone might enjoy it more than myself. I think the developers had a lot of passion when they created this game. The art is beautiful, which is one of the things that attracted me to it

I went into this game thinking it would be more of a straightforward visual novel than it is. But the narrative just.. isn't really there.
It follows the story of a mentally ill NEET (Not in education, employment or training) girl who relies on her partner, P-chan to guide her to become a streamer with 1,000,000 followers. This process makes her symptoms worse and worse and she ideates on suicide, self harms and abuses drugs.
The narrative is very straightforward and there aren't really any twists and turns. I don't feel like Ame/Kangel is very likeable, but I did try to root for her. The characterisation and narrative just aren't very deep. There's no deep conversations digging into how she's really feeling. We don't really get to know her or her backstory other than 'I dropped out of school and was bullied! I feel socially isolated!' I'm not a dropout, but I've suffered from a fair few mental health issues, feeling isolated and being bullied in my life, so I of all people should relate to her struggles... But there's just not enough of her there for me to connect. It's not really a visual novel, and that's confusing to me because some people defending the game on negative reviews say things like 'Did you not expect this game to be a visual novel?' It's more like a slow, dry, management sim. On that note, the psychological horror elements don't really work either. Yes, all these bad things happen to her, but since you don't get to explore a deeper narrative it's more like 'That's an unfortunate and unpleasant thing that happened to her.' rather than '♥♥♥♥, this character that I cared about a lot has had this terrible thing happen to her. I'm heartbroken!'

The streaming mechanic isn't very well implemented, I don't think. It's very slow and the whole section has a skip option. I could skip streams, but it seems to be against the point of the game. If there was an option to just skip between each section of the stream, I think that would work better. It feels like one 'scene' in the stream lasts like 1 minute, for about a 10 word sentence.

I think that maybe I bought this game still thinking of my taste in edgy media from when I was a teenager. Or maybe I'm just desensitised to this sort of thing. I don't know, but this game is just boring me. I may give it another chance, but I think I'd rather go and play something with a deeper story, or more engaging game mechanics, depending on what genre I pick.
