Otaku was shamelessly replaced for nerd
https://i.imgur.com/R5OlMIY.png
This ain't right.
Also, add trading cards/backgrounds/etc! A lot of assets would already work really well for this (the in-game border backgrounds would work very well as Steam backgrounds with some editing). Maybe some items for the points shop as well, but those clearly take more effort.
And honestly, some of the localization seems jarring. "Nerd" should just be "otaku", it's almost insulting that it was localized this way.
I've really enjoyed the game so far!! Looking forward to more
- No ESRB rating. This makes the game a bit of a "play at your own risk" for streamers who aren't full time mature streamers. So I was a bit concerned what might happen if I selected the drugs, or the bed icon. However I was not prepared for the sudden "cutting" event that I had no idea what triggered it.
I'd suggest maybe reconsidering the level of profanity and abusive language in the localization, as it's a bit off-putting, and some of the responses in the SNS bear no correlation to the stickers picked or responses selected. I know they might have based these on Western streamers twitch or youtube language, but there's an entirely different kind of streamer/moderator dynamic in the west, where comments aren't aggressively moderated and instead the users are usually just warned by the streamer, then timed out/banned.
Alternatively, in the spanner icon "a censor profanity automatically" option.
As for bugs, there are at least two that I ran into
A) The game spontaneously just goes "p-chan doesn't pay attention to me", even if you do everything possible, and ends prematurely. I believe this is because of the UI not registered all clicks (similar problems exist with clicking on the stream comments which deletes them if you're not clicking on the trash icon)
B) It's sometimes possible to keep going even though the game-over popup is present.
Suggestions (beyond above)
1. Let me select the audio output and display output for streaming reasons.
2. Let me select an integer scale resolution so the text is readable if the window gets resized.
3. Please put more work into the responses on the stickers, as I found I often just used OMG and Heart and nothing else, as most of the interactions seem to side on the level of mean rather than nice.
2.A flowchart for all endings, and the ability to return to that point in the game.
3. Skins & mods (I know this one is huge, sorry)
4. I like the sticker conversations you have to "win" (I don't think people realize you have to make Ame STOP texting you to make her happy, IIUC the stickers work in some sort of rock, paper, scissors logic, that gets harder over time) but more responses would be nice.
As it stands the content warning in game makes it seem like it does not get nearly as dark as it does, and certainly won't prepare people for some of the more disturbing and sudden sequences.
I want to recommend this game to people but I can't in good faith do that because I don't know if they would be able to handle it, being able to send them a screenshot of a more detailed content warning would make it much easier to recommend to people.
If you're having struggles to figure that out you and them shouldn't even consider playing this game, you're not the main audience the game was made for.
Nobody needs trigger warnings or crap of that caliber. Read the game reviews and they'll give you enough info of what you're against, but enjoy spoiling urself in the process
I mean like, that's kind of the point of a content warning, to know whether you're able to play the game or not and if you're part of the intended audience. Having something like,
"this game explores themes of suicide and self harm, and contains on screen depictions of them,"
will not spoil the entire game. Most people who just find this on the steam store won't be expecting anything like a cutting scene, even if they watch all the trailers and read the description.
From the store description:
*NOTE: This is a perfectly wholesome game, containing absolutely no explicit sexual references or expressions nor illegal substances. For real!
