This game does not work.
I bought this game on PS5 a while back on release and enjoyed it, so i recently decided to replay again on steam. Upon starting new game i'm greeted with a black screen with a slow mo voice, and nothing works.

I've tried multiple fixes dotted around including VP9 extension, but windows store says "open" indicating it's already installed. I've tried deleting folders in documents, starting as admin and other various compatibility options, nothing. This game simply does not want to work. I've also tried validating files. Any other options?

Edit: So after countless hours of failures, i dropped all the video files into VLC player and converted them to MP4, replaced all the original files and it fixed all the blank cutscenes! If anyone is interested in trying to see if it helps you, i'll add the files below. Just in case they still have the .mp4 extension when you download them, theres a batch file included to remove all extensions on files, if not needed then just ignore the bat file.

unzip and place the folder into the archive folder in the games directory.

I fixed the issue for me, my solution is in the original post if you're interested in trying!

Thank you so much. I spent a lot of time as well. I tried everything with these drivers and VP9. Only the video replacement worked. I respect you a lot!
