・Fixed a bug occurring after changing restrictions via the Inner Discipline screen in any main or sub battlefield and then moving to The Thousand-Mile Journey, which caused the player’s Morale Rank to decrease even if they had not changed their Maximum Morale Rank.

・Fixed a bug occurring after exchanging Benefits via the Exchange Golden Horse Hooves screen on the Thousand-Mile Map and then traveling to any main or sub battlefield, in which the Benefits exchanged were lost under certain conditions.

・Fixed a bug that activated the special effect “King of Fusang's Manifestation” under certain conditions when players opened the Battle Set screen, even if they had not fulfilled the activation requirements.

・Fixed a bug causing the list of Hidden Tome drops to be displayed in the Character Directory pages for Guan Yu and Zhang Fei even when the DLC “Upheaval in Jingxiang” had not been applied.

Hello to everyone who has been enjoying Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This is the game’s producer/director, Hirayama. Today, the third and final DLC, "Upheaval in Jingxiang", and Ver1.300 update were released. For this letter, I’ve selected some of the new and updated content to introduce in a bit more detail so that you can enjoy them even more as you continue to battle the demons plaguing ancient China.

DLC Vol. 3: Upheaval in Jingxiang
■New Weapon: Whip
This weapon type is characterized by its flexible movement, and has a large number of attacks that cover a wide range to strike multiple enemies.
Switching between its two forms is important for this weapon type, so while the enhanced state is unable to recover Spirit, it is capable of executing repetitive high-intensity, high-performance attacks.
Alongside enhanced attacks, there is also a hitbox when deflected successfully, allowing the player to attack aggressively when the moment calls for it.
In addition to switching forms when using the whip, you can also enjoy its synergy with other weapons, such as using other weapon types to build up Spirit and then switching to an enhanced state from a deflect counterattack.

■New System: Stratagem
It is unlocked by clearing the main battlefield of "Upheaval in Jingxiang."
As the name Stratagem suggests, this new system has been implemented to break through battle conditions.
While the effect of the Stratagem is powerful, there are conditions for using it, so it is important to set it according to your own build situation and the content of the battlefield you are challenging.

There are two types of effects: "always activated" and "optional." For example, the "always activated" type may increase the damage of martial arts in exchange for the inability to use Wizardry Spells at any time, while the "optional" type is activated by a special command like Wizardry, and as an example, may reduce Morale Rank, but replenishes the Divine Beast Gauge when activated.
When encountering a difficult situation, try to overcome it by trial and error while switching out the Stratagem!

Also, just as with accessories, some of these Stratagems have special effects that can be activated by equipping them, so we hope you will enjoy not only the effects of the Stratagems, but also the combinations of the special effects.

■Expansion of “The Thousand-Mile Journey”
We have included various expansions to further enhance your experience in "The Thousand-Mile Journey."

First of all, we have gone beyond the current 100 mile limit.
As the name implies, we made 1000 miles the end of the journey, but have extended it beyond 1000 miles for extra replayability so that players can enjoy the game for a long time.
Along with that, we have added several new battlefield types for a wider choice of battlefields.

In addition, the hurdle for collecting equipment as end-game content was too high, so the following modifications have been made:

- "Grace-Bestowed Equipment" is set as a reward for completing the battlefields at intervals of 10 miles.
- The benefit of Grace is added when "Grace-Bestowed Equipment" is dropped.　
　*The benefits will be unlocked by clearing 101 miles and thereafter.
- The "Golden Horse Hoof offering" function has been changed to a function that increases the drop rate of accessories.

We have also improved the playability of the game by adding a function that allows players to pre-select a route for 10 miles and continuously play the battlefield. This allows for continuous play of Recruitment if the host of the online play has pre-selected a route.
We have also made various other adjustments, so please check the patch notes.

■New feature: Apex Bonus
In addition to the already implemented difficulty level switching, the "Apex Bonus" feature can be combined with the function expansions to allow more efficient collection options.
With this update, we have extended the level limit to 500, and we have prepared additional elements for those who have already reached the limit.

The "Apex Bonus" is an element that can be strengthened by consuming Genuine Qi, similar to leveling up, and can enhance five items: Attack Power, Elemental Attack, HP, Spirit Defense, and Luck.
This bonus can be increased up to a total of Lv. 1000, so please enjoy these further growth elements to take on the end-game content.


Free Update Ver1.300
■Expansion of “Inner Discipline”
As mentioned in passing in the previous Director’s Letter, we have expanded the difficulty adjustment system.
The "Inner Discipline" feature, which previously only allowed the adjustment of Morale Rank, now allows for step-by-step improvement of drop contents by placing restrictions on each item such as "HP," "various types of damage," "amount recovered," and "presence or absence of special effects."
Please try it out according to your own build situation and gameplay skills.

In addition, in this new difficulty level, "Dragon King," the upper limit is set at +12 upgrade and 8★ rarity, but by taking on an even higher difficulty level using "Inner Discipline," the maximum enhancement level of up to +20 can be dropped.
We noted that increasing the maximum limits for both the upgrade level and rarity would make the hurdle of creating an ideal build too high, so we have decided to increase the limit only for the upgrade level.

The maximum upgrade level is compensated for by the combination of the recommended level of the battlefield and the limit of the Inner Discipline, so the higher the difficulty of the battlefield and the more multiple restrictions are applied, the higher the upgrade level will be dropped.

Please be assured that the 8★ equipment you have in the "Dragon King" will not go to waste, as the special blacksmithing materials obtained by disassembling equipment of +13 or higher can be used to strengthen the equipment up to the level of enhancement you have already obtained.


These are but a few of the details of the update that we hope you’ll be excited about.

In addition to the new story "Upheaval in Jingxiang," which depicts Liu Bei's forces as they fight back against the threat of the Elixir that has gripped Jing Province since the death of Yu Ji, it features four new generals, a new weapon type (whip), a new Divine Beast "Chenghuang" that can attack with the player riding on its back, new enemies, new demons, new missions, the new “Stratagem” system, additional higher difficulty levels, an expansion of "The Thousand-Mile Journey" and much more!

1: Select the "Start" button and select "Settings" > "System" > "Display"
2: If multiple displays are connected to the PC, select the HDR-enabled display under "Organize Displays"
3: Under "Windows HD Color Settings", turn "Use HDR" off.
4: Launch the game (the HDR setting in the game will be automatically set to "Disabled").

The field Set Stratagems has been added to Battle Preparation in the Battle Flag menu.


■Free Updates
・Expanded the feature Inner Discipline.
Note: Players can now choose from even more options when placing restrictions upon themselves via Inner Discipline on the Battle Preparation screen.
Placing restrictions will enable drops of even rarer equipment.
It will also enable enemy drops of equipment with upgrade levels of 13 or higher in “Path of the Dragon King” or in the further reaches of The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Added the new feature “Determine Your Path,” which allows players to select multiple battlefields in advance and plan out their path to the next camp in The Thousand-Mile Journey.
Note: Players can choose their path via the sub menu.

・Added a feature allowing players to spend coppers in order to search for new battlefields in The Thousand-Mile Journey.
Note: This feature can be unlocked by clearing Mile 30 in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Increased the maximum number of Golden Horse Hooves players can acquire.

・Added 15 new Wizardry Spells.
Note: These new spells can be used by first obtaining the item Hidden Tomes.
The tomes can be obtained as possible drops after defeating bosses in “Path of the Rising Dragon” and beyond.

・Added the Martial Arts technique Suffocating Stream, which can be used with hammers and poleaxes.
Note: This technique will be randomly assigned when an applicable weapon is acquired.

・Added the Martial Arts technique Entwined Blades, which can be used with dual swords, dual sabres, and dual halberds.
Note: This technique will be randomly assigned when an applicable weapon is acquired.

・Added new special effects.
Note: These special effects will be randomly assigned to equipment in the same way as current special effects.

・Added a feature enabling players to increase or decrease values by units of 10 on the Level Up and Reset Parameters screens.

・Added an option to display the Control Guide on the screen in-game.
Note: Players can enable this option via Control Guide in the game settings.

・Added an option to display the Key Guide on the screen while playing.

・Made changes to allow characters other than those from the English alphabet to be used for custom names in the Battle Set, Battle Flag Customization, and Character Creation menus in certain languages.
Note: Changes made to custom names will not be saved if they contain characters not supported by the game.

・Made changes so that any equipment obtained via Exchange Golden Horse Hooves will have an upgrade level of 8.

・Made changes so that after unlocking “Path of the Rising Dragon,” any equipment obtained via Accolade Rewards will have an upgrade level of 8.


■Adjustments
・Made adjustments so that after the status effect Armor Break is inflicted once, resistance to Armor Break will increase significantly.

・Lengthened the startup sequence for some of Xu Sheng’s Critical Blows.

・Made upward adjustments to the HP of companions.

・Changed the effect of “Offer Golden Horse Hoof” in The Thousand-Mile Journey so that it will increase the likelihood of obtaining accessories.
Note: The previous effect, raising the Battlefield Rank, will be removed.

・Made changes to reward players with one random piece of equipment bestowed with Grace after they have completed “Onslaught of Warlords” for each camp in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Made changes so that players who have lowered their Fortitude Rank with Inner Discipline in The Thousand-Mile Journey will receive additional Golden Horse Hooves upon reaching a camp, based on the difference between their original and current Fortitude Ranks.

・Increased the number of Golden Horse Hooves that can be obtained upon conquering a battlefield with camps disabled in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Made changes to Recruit sessions in The Thousand-Mile Journey, so that if the host has determined their path to the next camp, the party will be able to continue their multiplayer session until arriving at that camp.

・Increased the drop rate of Legendary equipment upon defeating certain characters in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Made changes so that one additional piece of equipment will be dropped when players defeat certain characters in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Increased the active duration of the Benefits “Boost Fortitude 1★” and “Boost Fortitude 2★” to 10 in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Made it impossible to use the consumable item Mystic Crane during “Battleground Conquest” in The Thousand-Mile Journey.

・Made changes so that when the host of a Recruit session initiates a boss battle and then rechallenges the boss, the guests will be awarded the same amount of Morale Points.

・Made adjustments to some of the pickups in the main battlefields “The Demon Fort of the Yellow Heaven,” “The Battle of Hulaoguan Pass,” and “Lu Bu, Mightiest Among Men.”

・Shortened the loading time before starting some battlefields.

・Changed the maximum number of effect icons for bosses from 10 to 16.

・Changed the name of the attribute “Elemental Resistances” to “Elemental Defense.”

・Adjusted the list order of Effect Icons on the Documents screen.

・Added ruby characters to some Japanese text.

・Changed the name of the field “Maximum Effect Icons Displayed” to “Max Number of Effect Icons on Player” in the game settings.

・Made changes to the zoom in/zoom out controls in Character Creation.
Note: The controls are now aligned to those in Photograph mode.

・Adjusted the distance at which player characters become transparent when the player moves the camera closer to them in Photograph mode.

・Removed the option “Equipment without Warrior Set Bonuses” from the field “Auto-Salvage/Auto-Sell Based on Set Bonus” in the Auto-Salvage/Auto-Sell Settings for accessories.

・Made it possible for players to acquire Martial Soul Fragments upon salvaging a weapon with a Martial Arts level of 1 or higher.

・Made it possible for players to see their upgrade level and Martial Arts level when changing equipment in the Inventory and Blacksmith menus.

・Increased the effectiveness of the special effects “Elemental Damage,” “Flame Damage,” “Water Damage,” “Lightning Damage,” “Stone Damage,” and “Toxin Damage.”

・Added the note “This does not apply to elemental damage” to the descriptions of certain special effects.
