I think this game is way too short and the content is repetitive to the point that I can't recommend it at full price, however, I do think it's worth trying when it's heavily discounted (if you like similar games). I got 2.5 hours of playtime before it reached a point in the story when you have to repeat the entire middle - and worst part IMO - of the game across three separate characters . I think it's OK if you manage to get it during a decent sale.

Its a cool idea, but not great execution. The survival horror side isn't very good, and the Until-Dawn Choices-Matter side isn't great either, so its just a slight novelty with not much substance.

For survival horror, combat is not good, just repetitive and annoying, but i like the combat camera, its a cool stylistic choice. On the default difficulty you have too much ammo and the whole "either run or fight" thing isn't really much of a choice, they are usually in your way or run straight up to you so you have to fight, and again have so much ammo why wouldn't you? Environments aren't very varied and pretty stereotypical. I only found myself scared maybe once. Puzzles are all pretty straightforward, and (usually) don't have much consequence to you failing, Unfortunately any time their is a consequence, its usually an instakill, which is really more of an inconvenience.

And speaking of, the choices-matter until-dawn esque hook, its pretty shoddy. You have next-to no personal attachment to the characters you play, you have one interaction with them before starting the game proper. they have different personalities and stats / abilities, but they barely change how you play the game, so its not really all that meaningful. One might be slightly faster, one has the option of using weapon kits, one has more inventory slots, again most of the time you are just running gunning and solving puzzles so it doesn't really matter. And your choices don't really matter for the other characters, its basically like dying and using up a life, you just start back at the safe room and have to backtrack to whatever you were doing in your last life.

Again, a cool idea, some cool stylistic choices, but the scope of the execution was just too narrow to have any effect, its a pretty generic survival horror romp at the end of the day.
