Do you think we will ever get another Trine game or at least an expansion?

Hi, we are getting close to two years since release of Trine 5. What are your opinions about where the Trine series goes from here? Do you think there is a chance we will get another instalment in the series even after rather disappointing sales (according to the number of steam reviews)? In my opinion Frozenbyte came pretty close to Trine 2 with a Clockwork Conspiracy (they mostly polished combat in comparison to Trine 4 + reduced most of annoying elements from previous games), it would be a shame if it is where it all ends. On the other hand developing another Trine game might be just too expensive for Frozenbyte to keep them afloat. What do you think about the future of Trine series?

I hope so. New technologies will allow them to make even more beautiful places in the game. Perhaps they may use a crowd funding site to fund it?.

Crowdfunding is not really realistic for Trine, if the goal is to do something like 4 or 5. Budget is in the millions, and it's pretty safe to presume that at least half of the collected money will go to expenses and taxes (this is somewhat dependent on local laws, which in case of Finland aren't particularly good for crowd funding).

According to Wikipedia's list of video game crowdfunding projects, there are only few that have collected anywhere near enough money.

Personally, I rather like the cheating-made-a-bit-harder kind of laws that we have. Studio would likely have to move without me.
