Unlimited multiplayer puzzles are "harder" but you can have multiple instances of each character.
Classic multiplayer allow only one instance of each character: if you're 3 players you have to switch character with another player, you can't have 2 Amadeus for instance.

Without hopefully giving out too much. In this particular puzzle on multiplayer one player can play as Zoya and keep holding the rope instead of tying it to a ring (as there’s no ring in the mp variant of the puzzle).
