This is just a guess on my, but EOS (that we use to support cross platfrom multiplay) requires the authentication to be refreshed every now and then. From the top of my head the interval is around 1 hour or so, thus the 2 hours could fit this interval and for whatever reason the token refresh fails which would cause the connections to be cut. But like Lanani, this is the first time I've heard of this being an issue.
If this keeps happening and you're all playing on PC you could try disabling EOS by adjusting the options.txt:
- While the game is closed
- Navigate to %appdata%/Trine5 and open the options.txt (if it doesn't exist, you can just create it)
- Add the following line to the file setOption(networkModule, "UseEOS", false)
- Save the file and you should be good to go
Do note that this will hide any other online games apart from those that are hosted without EOS. You can always remove the line from the file to get things back to how they were tho.
Let me know if this is of any help.
