Lost progression/points in multiplayer
Tried to play Trine 5 with friends but ran into trouble. In Trine 4 we had no issues with this but now on our second time playing Trine 5, my friends had lost all their progression. I hosted both times we've played and had my abilities and ability points intact. No abilities and/or points were saved for the others. They tried loading into single player to if any of their progression registered there but nope. Please, does anyone know of a solution to this?

Whenever you play a game either in single or multiplayer, it creates a save for this game even if you were not the one who created it so whe you make a new game you can chose to continue one of your previous one, exactly like in Trine 4.

How very odd. When your friends go to C > Program Files (x86) > Steam > userdata > [their user ID] > 1436700 > remote), do they have save files there?

Me and a friend started a game yesterday. Today coming back to it, all my spent skill points are gone. Also only get the "newly aquired" ones, without regaining the ones lost.

The location you mentioned has save games for me.

Odd. Can you please report it as instructed the following thread, so QA and devs can investigate your savegame directly? Thanks.

Thank you all for the replies. All of us had the same save files in C > Program Files (x86) > Steam > userdata > [their user ID] > 1436700 > remote). All could continue from the same save in chapter 5 but the problem remained, the progression didn't register for my friends. We changed it so this time one of my friends hosted a private game instead of me using "host friends" and we also turned off steam cloud save but I doubt either of those things will work, we'll see next time we play if the new progress was saved.

Thanks Lanani, I'll send in a report.

seems like this has been a common issue among every version of the game for multiplayer. My friend and I always 100% the game together and its always a struggle with screwy saves and lost progression.

Same here. Progression did only carry over for the host, the coop partners lost all skill points when loading into level 5.

me and my friends had the same issue but we have found out how to sort it, the progression points are on the hosts skill tree, so if the other players go onto the skill tree and select the character that the host upgraded the points are there so the other players can just take them off that character and put them onto the character they are playing with

Same here, progression points is always with the host

Same, the client connected to me gets disconnected in every new chapter and loses his progress repeatedly. This is bizarre to see in "multiplayer first" game

Same. Progression always save for the host

Can't progress in multiplayer online with friends. Starts from the beginning every time. Very frustrating.

We had the same problem. It was solved by creating a private game (with password), and the other players entering by searching for the private game in the menu, NOT with an invitation. I hope it works for someone else.
