Z buffer and 3d depth?
I played Trine 1 and 2 on a 3d TV back in the day (with Nvidia 3d Play)

I wanted to play Trine 5 in 3D by using Reshade and Depth 3D on a VR headset, but seems Trine 5 has no "depth".

Does somebody know how can I add depth to the game? I remember for one of the Trine games back in the day (maybe Trine 3?) there needed to be a fix for the 3D otherwise it would just look flat...it is the same case with Trine 5 and didn't find any fix or info about it.

Trines 1 to 3 had actual stereo 3D rendering. Even if there was no hardware support (like Nvidia 3D vision), you could start the games in various side-by-side and such rendering modes, getting the real depth effect that way.

As for Trine 4 and 5, they use a new renderer which lack stereo rendering, so all you can do is some sort of automatic conversion. I don't know about those things at all, but I do seem to remember that the new renderer uses inverted depth buffer. So whatever conversion software you are using, it should take that into account.

It has plenty of depth with Depth 3D. I have been playing it in 3D on my headset for months and it looks fantastic - although some heavy haloing in cut-scenes the way I have it setup. You just need to fiddle with the Depth 3D settings to get a proper depth map. Suggest you join the Depth3D Discord and you can get all the help you need there.

Hmmm but that is weird, I use Depth 3D in other games without issues and whatever I set in Trine 5, it's completely flat. Can you share your ini and I can try Trine 5 quick? Are you using the companion app or directly in game with reshade?

And which API is Trine5 use ? DX12 ?
Sad that S3D by Tridef killed the game and crash.

For Reshade(Depth3D) use DX10/11/12. Need to set much options in Depth3D but now it looks well enough. Not as well as in Tridef would but it´s ok. A welldesigned game which looks much better in Stereo3D. Can´t understand that devs didn´t implented S3D again. There are a lot of users who own a VR-HMD, millions of them would be flashed by Trine5 in S3D.
