Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy

My critique on the soundtrack.
A clockwork conspiracy (main menu):
The main menu theme is an original track, very good.

The town library (Zoya's tutorial level):
It's an arrangement of Trine 2's "Thieves guild", good enough since it's probably the same city both levels happen to take place in.

The garden of eternal shade: (Pontius' tutorial level):
An arrangement of Trine 3's "The academy gatehouse", everything Trine 3 related gives me traumatic flashbacks so i can't give this one a good rating.

The well of tranquility (Amadeus' tutorial level):
This is from Trine 3's "Amadeus the wizard", same as above.

The astral academy gardens (act I level 1):
Another arrangement of the original trine's astral academy theme, fair enough as it's the astral academy, but not the best version i've listened to.

The long way to town (act I level 2):
An original track, very good at setting the tone and a very good melody overall.

Sinister back alleys (act I level 3):
I have mixed feelings about this version of Trine 2's "Mudwater dale", sure it's a level about one of the main enemies, but it's "swamp music", the ambience doesn't fit that much.

The royal castle (act I level 4):
I didn't expect to hear something like Trine 4's Melody of Mystery "Highborn hopes" this soon in the game, read below.

The tallest tower (act I level 5):
This uses Trine 2's Goblin menace "The heroes return", maybe it's just me, but i think it would have made more sense to use it in the last level and "Highborn hopes" here, they're okay, but at this point there's been 7 reused tracks out of 9, it's starting to feel a little uncomfortable.

The guardian of the tower (act I level 5 - boss fight):
This boss level uses Nine parchments' "The icefalcon's crest", it's boss music, not complaining, but not praising either.

Dungeons and sewer rats (act II level 1):
A very good original track which plays in a very good level.

Smuggler's way (act II level 2):
Ambience music which fits the level it plays in very well.

Gemstone caverns (act II level 3):
A new interpretation of the original Trine's "Crystal caverns", the problem with this one, besides the fact it's the THIRD time this track is used, is that, while the second version added a new section to the melody, this one doesn't contribute much.

Brackenridge path (act II level 4):
It's Trine 3's "Redwood forest" another Trine 3 track *cuddles in a corner*.

The astral observatory (act II level 5):
Another song which is used for the third time, and Trine 2's version which plays during the searock castle level was much better.

The wilhelmaton (act II level 5 - boss fight):
It's Nine parchments' "The hollow reef" would have been nice to have new boss music.

Autumn woods (act III level 1):
Awesome melody, best "filler level" music up there with the original trine's "Fangle forest" or "Shadowthorn thicket".

Petrified marshes (act III level 2):
"Dragon graveyard" from the original trine returns in a similar kind of level, with new background melodies which reflect the darker tone the story has gotten, good use of this particular track.

The bastion of hope (act III level 3):
A repeat from Trine 4's "Snow-topped heights" this soon doesn't feel right, this just appeared last game.

The valeribot (act III level 3 - boss fight):
This version of Trine 2's Goblin menace "Brackenridge goblins workshop" comes at the worst time possible, this was one of my favourite tracks when it released and seeing it used as boss music feels wrong, basically "look how they massacred my boy".

The magnificent airship (act IV level 1):
From Trine 2's Goblin menace "Glory of ancient kingdom", it comes as a surprise, i can say i liked hearing this one again, it's also an improved version.

The floating archipelago and emerald valley (act IV level 2):
An original track which, although fitting for the level it plays in, isn't that much memorable

The clockwork palace (act IV level 3):
A very refined arrangement of Trine's "Throne of the lost king", it also makes sense because i recall the composer saying that this was meant to be background music to a feast, which fits Goderic's luxurious palace, this is an example of how to make a track come back in the best way possible.

The dethroning (act IV level 4 - technically a boss fight):
Boss fight music which is a remix of "Thunderous mountains" from Nine parchments, it's a very good version but it would have been nice to have an original track for the finale.
