Small spoiler : The nine parchments wizards are in Trine 5 ;)
I guess it's a matter of taste, as they're different genres. I had much more fun with Nine Parchments than with all Trines combined. And more playtime.
Also, Nine Parchments had serious design issues, mainly due to the abandon of the original roguelite design, which made some stuff feel pointless/empty all around. Also, the broken multiplayer things, like making private sessions public when resuming them, also didn't help. But of course, I suppose it suffered more for probably not selling enough, in a time Frozenbyte wasn't really well I guess.
But, gameplay was king, and they really nailed the controls and feel and learning curve for a good twin-stick shooter, so yeah, I'd love more of it, this time with a more mature, well-though gamedesign to wrap it.
I guess I'd love to have it like a "combat-focused mature Trine" with a "top-down" perspective and twin-stick shooter controls, but where each combat feels a little like a small puzzle instead of button mashing. So, still a somewhat mindless fun, but with some continous minor mind effort to pull it perfectly.
I would have appréciate secrets room etc, but it was a really cool game !
Likewise, the thief being able to grapple anything was pretty fun for getting around. They sort of got around it in Trine 5 by letting you summon a hook anywhere, but it's not the same.
can they at least add a normal storyline and additional quests? Pls
Additionnal quest, why not, but the quest is over. They found all the parchments.
And once each charac is lvl 60, and that you found all the wand / hat (exept 1 that nobody found), you don't have the same feeling with the game.
And an additionnal quest means that they would not implement new game mechanics.
Secret rooms , hided items (not only feathers) for example would be really cool.
That's why in my opinion, a second nine parchment would be better than a dlc or something like it.
And when i'm with my Friends , i dont look for chatty games but funny ones. Nine parchments does the job very well, so plz, if there IS a number 2, make it fun, with more secrets maybe giving equipment more importance. Rogue liké? Why not. Keep the XP end thé développement of. characters
Keep the scores on the end of stages, really important so WE Can compare and trash talk each other.
So waiting for the 2.
what if...
