How to report a bug
Hey everyone!

I guess you found a bug and want to report it.

Please go to the following link to make a bug report and follow the instructions below to give the developers the best chance of trying to fix the issue:

Information needed:
  • Platform (Steam / GOG / Epic / PS4 / PS5 / XB1 / XBSX / NSW)
  • Can this bug be reproduced consistently? (unknown / sometimes / always)
  • How serious is this issue? (crash / major i.e. progress blocking / minor i.e. annoying but manageable)
  • Where did this happen? (which level + checkpoint, single or multi player)
  • Headline (One sentence)
  • Full description/steps to reproduce this bug (i.e. what was the last thing you did before it happened, does it only happen under certain conditions, etc.)
  • Game Version (launch the game, proceed to the main menu and select “Options”. The Version number will be displayed on the right side of the screen)
  • Screenshot/video of the issue, whenever possible (instructions further below).
  • Your save game and log files (instructions further below).
  • Your dxdiag, if you are experiencing a performance, graphics or crashing issue (instructions further below).
  • Your Steam/Discord name so we can contact you in case we need further information.

If you wish to add information after you have created a ticket, open the ticket URL, then click the “Edit” button on the right side just above or just below the ticket, enter your additional info in the “Notes” field, and click “Submit”.

If you experienced a crash on PC you should receive a prompt asking you if the information about the crash can be forwarded to us. Please do so, this information will be critical for us.
Make sure all your drivers are up-to-date (AMD, Nvidia, Windows Updates...)
Verify your files on Steam if you experience issues (right click on Trine 5 in your library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files)

How to attach files to a bug ticket:
Click “Browse” at the bottom of the bug ticket to attach your files.

To get your save games:
  • Go to C > Program Files (x86) > Steam > userdata > [your user ID] > 1436700 > remote.
  • Select all files and right click them > “Send to” > “Compressed (zipped) folder” and save it somewhere easily accessible.

To get your log files:
  • Press Windows key + key and paste %appdata%, then press OK.
  • In the folder that opens, go to Roaming >Trine5.
  • Right click the “log” folder > “Send to” > “Compressed (zipped) folder” and save it somewhere easily accessible.

To get your dxdiag:
  • Press Windows key + R key and type "dxdiag", then press OK.
  • Once the dxdiag is done, press "Save all information" and save it somewhere easily accessible.

To capture screenshots/videos:
  • Press Windows key + Print Screen to save a screenshot in C:/Users/[your user name]/Pictures/Screenshots
  • Windows key + Alt + R to start and stop recording a video that is saved in C:/Users/[your user name]/Documents/Videos/Captures
